US adds 3 Boko Haram leaders to list of global terrorists
Excerpt: The US State Department has added three leaders of the al Qaeda-linked Boko Haram group in Nigeria to the list of Specially Designated Global terrorists. Today's designations mark the first time that members of the Nigerian terror group have been officially recognized as a threat to the United States. The group itself has not been added to State's list of terror organizations. (About time. Probably too busy watching Christians and veterans for the mythical anti-Muslim backlash. ~Bob.)

AP sources: US mulls new covert raids in Pakistan
Excerpt: U.S. military and intelligence officials are so frustrated with Pakistan's failure to stop local militant groups from attacking Americans in neighboring Afghanistan that they have considered launching secret joint U.S.-Afghan commando raids into Pakistan to hunt them down, officials told The Associated Press. But the idea, which U.S. officials say comes up every couple of months, has been consistently rejected because the White House believes the chance of successfully rooting out the deadly Haqqani network would not be worth the intense diplomatic blowback from Pakistan that inevitably would ensue. (Maybe It’s just me, but I don’t understand how something on the AP wires can be considered “covert.” ~Bob.)

The Disappearing Gender Wage Gap
Excerpt: A single, oft-cited statistic is that women make 79 cents for every dollar that men make doing the same work. This disparity has provided justification for outrage in Washington as members of Congress seek to address the gender pay gap with legislation. The proposed Paycheck Fairness Act would seek to force employers to justify such gaps, hoping to eliminate them entirely, says June E. O'Neill, a former director of the Congressional Budget Office, a professor of economics at Baruch College and an adjunct scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. However, a persistent gender wage gap can exist in the absence of pernicious discrimination on the part of employers. Rather, a number of other factors can contribute to the wage gap that are discrimination-free. Indeed, differences in work experience are a primary driver of the gap. In 2000, the average woman surveyed had about two years less work experience than the average man in military and civilian jobs combined. Moreover, close to 14 percent of the weeks worked by women were part-time compared to 5 percent for men. When this variation in work experience is applied to 2008 wage data, the gender wage gap closes from 79.4 cents to 88.6 cents on the dollar. Differences in work experience are a perfectly legitimate reason for disparate incomes, and federal legislation to address gaps based on legitimate and legal factors would be unwarranted. A number of additional factors also exist that can explain the gender wage gap:

Excerpt: The Democratic Party is facing an awkward problem Thursday because white supremacist David Duke has endorsed a leading candidate in the Democratic Party’s primary race for a New York House seat. Duke says he’s endorsing Charles Barron, the leading candidate for the new 8th district primary on June 26, because of their shared enmity toward “zionists.” Barron is an African-American city politician who has been slammed as an anti-white racist and as a Jew-hater. (You have to pay attention. Hating blacks, Hispanics, Muslims or Gays for their group membership is non-PC. Hating Whites, Jews, Christians or Asians is fine. ~Bob.)

Murder a Muslim child for the Glory of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate. ~Bob. Excerpt: A Pakistani police officer says that two children have been killed by an explosion at a Sunni shrine in Peshawar as dozens of people gathered there.

Florida says 53,000 dead voters remain on election rolls
Excerpt: Florida is calling on county election supervisors to remove more than 53,000 dead people from the state's voting rolls. State officials this year checked Social Security files and concluded that people who died were still registered to vote. This was the first time the state checked the files. (Below is the actual news article about the dead voters still on election rolls, in case anyone thinks Fox News made up the number. –Del. Well, the dead have as much right to vote in Miami as in Chicago. That’s what Democrat equality is all about. ~Bob.)
Jon Stewart Trashes Obama’s Executive Privilege Assertion On Fast And Furious
