I hate to TEA on your parade

While you celebrate today, there are a few things worth remembering. First, the American people have not fallen in love with the GOP. The GOP is the alternative to the Democrats, but we remember what happened the last time the GOP was in charge. You spent money like drunken Democrats. You would be wise to learn a lesson from that mistake.
Second, the American people do not want less of the same. There is an old political joke, “what is the difference between a Republican and a Democrat?” “With a Democrat you get more of the same and with a Republican, you get less of the same.” We do not want less of the same.
Third, you may think of Washington as a good old boys (and girls) club. We do not. If you want to socialize with your liberal friends after work, that is your choice. We do not want you doing that on the clock. We do not want you reaching across the aisle for the sake of “bipartisanship.”
Fourth, we don’t want you to “Manage” government. Government, especially the Obama-sized government is a disaster. We do not want cosmetic changes that will leave big government in place so that the next liberal administration can again send spending into the stratosphere. We want a fundamental reinvention of government. We want the waste, fraud and abuse cut out. I don’t care if a program helps a small number of people. If it is abused by a massive number of people, it has to go.
Finally, you need to remember the words of Ronald Reagan. The problem is not that government spends too little. The problem is, Americans are taxed too much. We need to end the income tax, once and for all. All the income tax does is provide for the endless, easy expansion of government. We do not want government expanded, we want it shrunk.
We realize for the next two years, your hands will be tied. Not only will Obama veto anything that makes sense that gets out of Congress, any meaningful reform, such as the repeal of Obamacare will probably be filibustered by the Democrats. Your job for the next two years is pretty simple. Don’t screw up. Don’t help Obama. Don’t play the patsy you so often do.
Wait until 2012. The GOP will have control of all three branches of government. Whether you get to keep it will depend on how trustworthy you are this time.
Oh, yes, and one final thing. The Tea Party movement is here to stay. 2010 and 2012 is the last chance for the Republican Party. If you turn out, again, just to be Democrat lite, in 2014, there will be a Tea Party party and it will send the GOP into the ash heap of history.
