Bob, I just had the pleasure of reading an e-mail in which you are so 'Tired'. I agree with almost everything in your e-mail and wanted to thank you for taking the time to put that together. I am tired of many things but paying people’s way that can't pay their own way either for stupid actions on their part of stupid Government policies really fries. Me. I, like you, do not mind helping the needy but they need to help themselves. One thing you said that I would like to elaborate on is the 'Fatherless Children' comment. In the Mid 60's, I believe '65, LBJ signed Welfare as we know it into law. It gave people money for every kid born to the home as long as Mom never got married. What did this do to the family unit in the African American community? It kept it from developing; that's what. It also gave what was suppose to be a temporary benefit a permanent place in many American homes; and at whose expense; yours and mine as taxpayers. Want to get people of welfare, tie the benefit to education with requirements on attendance; GPA and threat of loss of benefits for Drugs, Alcohol, and weapons on school grounds.
