Book Recommendation: Talk to the Hand: The Utter Bloody
Rudeness of the World Today, or Six Good Reasons to Stay Home and Bolt the Door by Lynne Truss.
I greatly enjoyed Truss’s best-selling book
on punctuation, “Eats, Shoots and Leaves,” so when I saw this I grabbed
it. It was not disappointing. I will be giving four copies for Christmas. Her
rant against rudeness is highly entertaining and right on point. Every chapter reminded me of some incident
that I am still annoyed about, but the perpetrators have forgotten. Her point
is that it is so easy to be considerate of others, but few bother to do so today.
I recommend you give this book to your literate, older children. She is very amusing
in her scolding, so it’s an easy read.
