Chuck Palazzo, member Veterans for Peace, Phony Vet, Embezzler
Interesting article, and the guy writing it is a journalist and actual vet, who let himself be totally hornswoggled by a ridiculously obvious phony, primarily because he was charming and was the "right kind of guy" out there helping all the poor Vietnamese supposedly harmed by AO and all our unexploded ordnance. (In I Corps there's at least as much leftover stuff from the NVA as from us or the ARVN, and a socialist government should have taken care of that for the past 44 years rather than let their people suffer, by why quibble about details? I note the Germans didn't demand we clean up UXO there, they did it on their own.) The VFP guys are sincere about desiring to help people, but some of them are also anti-war and condemnatory of the USA in general. I just had an episode with one last week at a veterans' exhibit in Raleigh. He started off with the antiwar rhetoric, but was courteous and let me answer, and when he figured out soon that I knew a lot more of the history then he did, he backed off and went away. --Del
