Biden's ad libbing

 Biden’s Ad-Libbing Becomes More Dangerous

Excerpt: There’s a place for strategic ambiguity, but this isn’t one of them. Alas, this weekend, President Biden exclaimed, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power!” and then his staff rushed to clarify that the president “was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia, or regime change,” which is the opposite of what the president actually said.

Ukrainian National Anthem

A wonderful performance of the Ukrainian National Anthem by the Metropolitan Orchestra and Chorus and conducted by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. You will notice one singer, a young man in the middle of the group, who has his hand over his heart, and needs no song sheet. Because he is Ukrainian, and knows the anthem of his beloved country by heart.

Pass it on as a form of your support.

Random Thoughts for March, 2022

Health Update

I had my six-month lung checkup 2/10/22. Mostly good. However the CT scan showed three small nodules in the lower part of my lung. Looking at the scans, if the doctor said I’d live 20 years, or die tomorrow, I’d have believed him. They meant nothing to me. I might be aspirating my food as I eat fast (Thank you Parris Island). The danger is that they will lead to infection that could eat away my (only) lung.  Another CT sca & meet with Dr. on 3/10.

Might also be aspergillus, which forced the removal of my left lung in 2020. But this is my last one!

I’ve been to Respiratory Therapy to get forced sputum tests, with mixed results. Tacrolimus lab sad I need to lower my tac intake by .5mg.. Doc wants me to eat slower (good luck) and to sleep with a wedge pillow they got me. He ordered a swallow test on 3/1. Results mixed.

Had two biopsies on the left side of my head. One was pre-cancerous. The other was Basil Small-Cell Carcinoma, a not-too-dangerous cancer. They called at 9:45 am 2/22 for me to come in by 12:00 noon to have it removed, or wait until May. I was there at 11:45AM. They said it shouldn’t come back. Stitches out 3/1.

My creatinine level is 1.5. It has been about that for years, though it is above normal. I have given up caffeine and drink more water—I don’t want to be on dialysis. My FEV numbers were the same as last time (they are better at home, but declining). My 6-minute walk was better than last time. Diabetes and Osteoporosis are holding. Will update this as needed.

I continue to march.

The Jacobins are gaining power. When they have full control, the Terror will be next. Followed by an American Napoleon. Whether the Republic will eventually be restored is uncertain.

When you pick a candidate based on race and gender rather than competence and ability, what do you get? Kamala! Joe Biden hasn’t learned this lesson.

You may have to wear a mask to the polls this November, but if you vote right, not afterwards.

I’m not old. I’m a teenager with special needs.

We are ruled by the hypocrites in the mask-less elite.

“The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of...We know the truth not only by the reason, but by the heart.” --Blaise Pascal

The principal feature of contemporary American liberalism is sanctimoniousness. By loudly denouncing all bad things — war and hunger and date rape — liberals testify to their own terrific goodness. More important, they promote themselves to membership in a self-selecting elite of those who care deeply about such things. People who care a lot are naturally superior to we who don’t care any more than we have to. By virtue of this superiority, the caring have a moral right to lead the nation. It’s a kind of natural aristocracy, and the wonderful thing about this aristocracy is that you don’t have to be brave, smart, strong or even lucky to join it, you just have to be liberal. Liberals actually hate wealth because they hate all success. They hate success especially, of course, when it’s achieved by other people, but sometimes they hate the success they achieve themselves. What’s the use of belonging to a self-selecting elite if there’s a real elite around? Liberals don’t like any form of individual achievement. . . . Also wealth is, for most people, the only honest and likely path to liberty. With money comes power over the world. Men are freed from drudgery, women from exploitation. Businesses can be started, homes built, communities formed, religious practiced, educations pursued. But liberals aren’t very interested in such real and material freedoms. Liberals want the freedom to put anything into their mouths, to say bad words, and to expose their private parts in art museums. --From "Give War a Chance" by the late P.J. O'Rourke.

In many parts of the world, democracy is just a way to get power so you can kill the opposition.

It is hopeless signing treaties with Communist or Muslim autocracies. They will only keep them as long as it is to their advantage. Then, so sorry, the agreement is broken.

Evil preaches tolerance until it is dominant. Then it tries to silence good. –Arch Bishop Charles J. Chaput

People see what they want to see.

“The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it.”  -- P.J. O'Rourke

Truth is whatever a politician can convince the public is true.

“Tories win elections, but because of who runs the British state, Labour is effectively always in power.”  --Steven Edginton

Slaves used to be branded in many countries so you would know them. Now I wonder if a mask doesn’t serve the same purpose.

Democrats were shrill in lobbying for a $15 minimum wage. Now, because of Bidenflation, they may get it de facto, if not de jure.

Martin Luther King said: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” Looking at you, China, Russia, and big sports.

Here in the United States, the combined BLM/antifa riots of summer 2020 caused the greatest property damage claims of any riot in U.S. history, around $2 billion. The violence eventually led to over 35 deaths, the torching of a federal courthouse, police precinct, and historic Washington D.C. church, over 1,500 police injuries–and, mysteriously, very few indictments of some 14,000 people arrested. – Victor Davis Hanson

In October 2019, Joe Biden pledged that, “Putin knows that when I am president of the United States, his days of tyranny and trying to intimidate the United States and those in Eastern Europe, are over.” So much for that. –Jim Geraghty

The one thing that history really seems to teach most strongly: people don’t learn much from history. That is, generations continue to make similar mistakes. –Walter Russell Mead
