Antifa

Tax Sux

 Tax Sux

Excerpt: ...(Y)ou cannot determine the character of a tax filer by looking at a tax return. There are two kinds of income under the tax code, ordinary income and capital gains. Most of us are familiar with ordinary income. We make wages. The government takes them. Capital gain is income that comes from the sale or other “realization” of assets. Gain is the difference between what one paid for the asset versus what one got when it was sold or “realized.” As day traders know, income from short-term gains on buying and selling assets, such as stocks, is treated as ordinary income. Income from gains on buying and selling assets held for more than one year is treated as long-term capital gains. Now, suppose there are two people, A and B. A has a good job making $120,000 a year. A’s friend, B, owns real estate. [There’s no easy way to excerpt this because the reader needs to follow every step or it doesn’t make sense. Now, I can see why serious investors hire accountants. It's not a game to play on your own. If you’d like to understand the process, this article will give you an overview. Ron P.]

Antifa just an idea?

I hope it didn’t pass unnoticed that, interrupting President Trump, Joe Biden said, “Antifa is an idea, not an organization.”

It’s an idea that can hire busses, has it’s own “riot kitchen” food truck, and equips its members with weapons, shields, and uniforms.

That takes money and organization. ~Bob

The first time I came across this scam institution was maybe 5 years ago, when he was circulating the false news that 2/3 of all Vietvets had died.  (Got so spread around that finally the VVA did a cover article on their magazine rebutting it a couple of years ago, but you will still see it quoted in places.)  The guy behind it used a boatload of aliases, but his real name is Phill Coleman, and the "Library" exists only in his computer records.  He has successfully scammed a lot of vets and does have a lot of information on people's records.  But he publishes lots of false stuff he's made up.

If you do a search on the library you will get a number of hits.  Below is the most recent one with lots of details.  I recommend spreading this out far&wide to the vet community so fewer people will fall for it.

Never Appologise to the Mob

Nicely done, and one I believe a great many people should see and

understand what's been going on.  The Far Left, Super PC mob has become like the Queen of Hearts "Off With Their Head" for the slightest offense, real or perceived.  They spare no one, it doesn't matter if you're a flag waving Conservative or have been a well known lifelong Liberal, if you nudge on of their delicate trip wires, BOOM, they are all over you in no time.  And shamefully, people in authority who really should know better cave in like wet cardboard and send the alleged offender off to the guillotine (figuratively... so far).  I admire the brave ones who don't bow down, like J K Rowling, but those who lose their jobs really have been publicly victimized in serious fashion.  That is a kind of terrorism, and it's hugely objectionable.  Free Speech is a bedrock value of America, and we all need to value it, defend it, and resist vigorously those who try to suppress it. --Del https://www.prageru.com/video/never-apologize-to-the-mob/?utm_source=Main +Mailing+List&utm_campaign=39d34e9c37-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_04_09_06_29_COP Y_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f90832343d-39d34e9c37-158023237

Steele’s Dossier Source Was a Suspected Russian Spy

Steele’s Dossier Source Was a Suspected Russian Spy

Excerpt: For months, Steele had been logged on bureau records as an official FBI informant. Nevertheless, in the most significant investigation in its modern history, the FBI did not identify Steele’s “primary sub-source,” Danchenko, until December 2016 — two months after the bureau, under oath, used the uncorroborated Steele/Danchenko information in what the FBI and Obama Justice Department labeled a “VERIFIED” application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC). Wait, there’s more. The FBI could easily have figured out Danchenko was Steele’s source months earlier. So why do it in December 2016? Because by then, they had no choice. It had become necessary a few weeks earlier to boot Steele out of the investigation — at least ostensibly. That’s because he had been outed publicly as a media source for information about his investigation of Trump. The public outing of Steele (in a Mother Jones article by David Corn, shortly before the 2016 election) should have come as no surprise. It had been obvious since at least September, when information from Steele was published in a Yahoo News article by Michael Isikoff, that Steele had been leaking to the media in order to help the Clinton campaign. Yet, the bureau repeatedly represented under oath to the FISC — four times between October 2016 through June 2017 — that “the FBI does not believe that [Steele] directly provided this information [in the Isikoff article] to the press.” (...) Why Are We Just Hearing This Now?
Once the FBI identified Danchenko as Steele’s source, agents soon realized he was the same man the FBI had investigated as a suspected Russian spy six years earlier. You can’t even make this up, so I’m not — it is in a letter and accompanying FBI report, transmitted on Thursday from Attorney General Bill Barr to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.). [This is a long, detailed article based on what has been revealed in the Durham investigation into the origin of the “Trump was a Russian stooge” conspiracy. You’ll have to read it to believe it. It’s difficult to imagine such a complete lack of candor from our most trusted  investigative agencies–but, it happened. If you weren’t angry before, you will be after reading this. It was ALL horse manure, right from the beginning. I added emphasis. Ron P.]

NYT: Minneapolis city council’s abolish-the-police mission has “collapsed”

Exerpt: This outcome was entirely predictable, and for many who live in Minneapolis, a huge relief as well. The New York Times describes the collapse of the abolish-the-police mission by the city “a case study in how idealistic calls for structural change can falter.” It’s better described as yet another reminder that sloganeering doesn’t replace actual governance, and what happens when politicians react to activists rather than talk to their own constituents:

Random Thoughts for October 2020

Random Thoughts for October 2020

Robert A. Hall

Feel free to post or forward.

Health Update: For those following my progress since my left lung was removed in June, I’m doing some better. Still working from home interviewing veterans and getting this life stories for their families and medical records. My weight, which was 158.5 on the day of the operation, dropped to 137.7, is now back in the low 150s. I’m still sleeping more than I did and tired a lot. I’m not sure I’ll get back to the status quo ante. My mobility is increasing impaired by the arthritis in my right hip. And I feel weaker and feebler. But at 74, I have a lot to be thankful for. Including you. I continue to march.

If Biden doesn't pee his pants on stage in the first debate, the media will declare him the winner.

How bad do you have to be when your party is finding reasons you shouldn’t debate Donald Trump.

“Forever Stamps” are at least honest about when the letter will arrive.” –James Lilaks

Saw a yard sign that said, “Defund Career Politicians.”

It’s racist to expect black students to go to class, take tests, write papers and compete with privileged white students. Any black who applies to a university should be accepted, given free tuition, and issued a degree in four years.

Apparently, in today’s politics, the bigger asshole you are the more you succeed

“Andrew Cuomo has done the impossible: make us miss Mario Cuomo.” –National Review.

At 74, there are few things I’d rather do than sleep.

Progressives want to ban hate speech. Unless the hate comes from Jihadists, BLM or Antifa.

“The urge to save humanity is almost always a false face for the urge to rule it.” H. L. Mencken

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for God made man in his own image.” [Gen 9:6]

At the start of Labor Day weekend, I had a list of things I wanted to get done. At the end, I still had a list, about half carried-over.

As I get older, I’m getting more sedentary in my life and more active in my dreams.

Press Gangs had a bad name in American history. Their name is just as bad today.

It beggars belief that voters would believe that Trump slandered vets two years ago, and it just came out now from anonymous sources.

If Trump is reelected, the riots and violence at the inaugural will be like WWIII. 50 dead across the country.

Can anyone who knows the history of the collapse of Rome look at our country and not see parallels?

How many homes do you see with Biden signs that are also flying American flags?

Want to stand above the crowd? Be reliable, be honest, be on time.

On the 19th anniversary of 9/11, I couldn’t hep thinking the terrorists won.

If a freight train without a caboose still looks odd to you, you’re old.

Black businesses matter.

Or in Amish country: Black Buggies Matter.

Have the hiccups? Think of Kamala Harris as president.

I was interviewed for the “Older Veterans Project” (Who you calling “older”?) by a woman writing a PhD dissertation on resiliency in older vets. She said of the 45 vets she had interviewed, every one said being in the service was a positive experience in their lives.

If you asked Kamela Harris about the Jacob Blake rape allegations, would she say, “Boys will be boys”?

Defund the police, fund the vigilantes.

You get new powers as you get older. I can now stare off into space for five or ten minutes at a time.

I’m sneezing a lot lately. I wonder if I’m allergic to my allergy meds?

I’m not interested in lectures on climate change from people who fly by private jet.

Dear Progressives: If you manage to elect Hidin’ Biden and a Democrat congress, your great grandchildren will live in poverty, oppression and fear. And they will hate you.

When most Americans think about politics they are engaging in an activity that they are not trained or equipped to do.

I’m always finding these cryptic notes which don’t mean anything to me. Which is annoying because they’re in my handwriting.

Rules for voice mail: 1. Clearly leave your name, spelling it if it’s difficult. Clearly and slowly leave your phone number. 3. Leave a clear, short message. Hang up.

From Facebook: What if NFL helmets showed the names of all the women they beat up?

First world problems: Electing people who will turn your country into a third-world socialist shithole, because they promise free stuff.

I’m 74 with a lot of health issues, but I still go to my office every day. Okay, it’s three steps off the living room, but still…

If Biden is elected president, will it be okay to touch little girls and sniff women’s hair again? Asking for a friend.

From the Net: "The White liberal differs from the White conservative only in one (1) way; the liberal is more deceitful, more hypocritical, than the conservative.  Both want power, but the White liberal is the one (1) who has perfected the art of posing as the Negro's friend and benefactor and by winning the friendship and support of the Negro, the White liberal is able to use the Negro as a pawn or a weapon in this political football game, that is constantly raging, between the White liberals and the White conservatives.  The American Negro is nothing, but a political football."  --Malcolm Little; aka 'Malcolm X'

Next episode of Chicago PD: In this thrilling story, cops are ordered to ignore seven murders in the city to beef up the crackdown on churches and guarding the mayor’s neighborhood.

Want to get off on the wrong foot? When a person answers the phone with, “Hello,” say,
“Who’s This?!”

Liberal: It’s a tragedy that poor man died in accident being chased by police.

Conservative: He didn’t have a driver’s license, was drunk, and doing 110 mph in a stolen car.

Liberal: Or sure, blame the victim.

If you get in a traffic accident, jump out of your car and yell, “Allah Akbar!” You’ll get off with a warning.

A Just Decision Not to File Homicide Charges in the Tragic Breonna Taylor Case

A Just Decision Not to File Homicide Charges in the Tragic Breonna Taylor Case

Excerpt: In similar cases around the country over the last several years, prosecutors have prioritized the mob over the evidence. To his great credit, Attorney General Cameron did not. As an African-American law enforcement official who has dealt extensively with the Taylor family, the strain of the case on him and his office was obvious at his press conference, and he spoke eloquently about that. No one can quarrel with the grand jury’s conclusion that Hankison deserved to be charged because of his life-threatening recklessness. In another case, since he did not actually injure anyone, the state might have been content with firing Hankison. But the enormity of Ms. Taylor’s death made such leniency impossible to rationalize.

Black on black crime.

 Black on black crime. George

Let’s take a look:
1. Depending on what data you look at, between 5 and 25 unarmed black people were killed by the police in 2019.  In the same year, 2500 blacks were killed by other blacks, or between 100 and 500 times the number killed by police
2. Black people are afraid of the police.  I’m afraid of nuclear war, but that’s far less likely than being hit by a car, so I look both ways.  See above: 100 times more likely than being killed by the police.
3. If you want to do something, start cooperating with the police to get your murderers off the street
4. The per capita rate for police killing blacks is greater than for killing whites.  Ok...note that the per capita murder rate of blacks doing the killing is disproportionately high...but we’re not allowed to say that.  Additionally, more blacks kill whites than the other way around, again disproportionate to the population.  When can we start that conversation (hint: never?)?
5. Given that, is it perhaps reasonable to expect the police are a little afraid of black people?  Asking for a friend
6. You ask why we are not talking about white on white crime.  Well, since you brought it up, remember that the movement is called Black Lives Matter.  Believe me, the white population cares deeply about catching and prosecuting our murderers, and cooperate with the police to do so.  But again, you started BLM with the sole argument of raising the issue of the 1% of black deaths at the hands of police, compared to the number killed by other blacks.  We’re told ‘this is about black lives’, and ‘this is about police killing blacks’.  Those are the rules you established.  I’m questioning the integrity of your concern.  Of course, I think we all know the backlash that would face an organization called White Lives Matter.
If you really want to cherry-pick data and present it in a misleading way, this article does a fine job...especially since we know that math (ok...arithmetic) is sexist and racist...so perhaps leave the analysis to those who understand the process.  You want to parse data by socio-economic status?  Fine.  But again, be prepared for an unhappy outcome.

I disagree with Trump's judicial nominee on almost everything. But I still think she's brilliant. By Noah Feldman
Mr. Feldman is one of those classic Liberals, who has particular views about politics and how things should be done, but retains the values of honesty, objectivity, commitment to the rules of the system, tolerance, respect for others with whom you differ, etc.  He is to be appreciated.  His comments are an example of the ideals of America as I see them.  We need a lot more people like him on both sides. --Del

In the Russia Probe, It’s ‘Qui S’excuse S’accuse’

In the Russia Probe, It’s ‘Qui S’excuse S’accuse’

Excerpt: I guess I owe Jamie Gorelick an apology. The then–deputy attorney general and other Clinton DOJ officials were worried about FISA. What if you had a rogue agent who was predisposed to believe a suspect was guilty, but couldn’t prove it? The rogue agent did not have enough evidence to seek a regular wiretap or search warrant. Mightn’t the rogue be tempted to use FISA? He’d just need to claim that there was some vague national-security aspect to the case; to pretend that his investigation was connected to a broader counterintelligence investigation of a foreign power. The rogue agent could then seek a FISA warrant to surveil the suspect. He would call it “counterintelligence,” but in reality he’d be conducting a criminal investigation — eavesdropping and searching suspects — even though he did not have probable cause to believe a crime had been committed. Based on this fear that FISA could be used pretextually to conduct criminal investigations, the Clinton Justice Department imposed “The Wall.” To prevent investigators from exploiting FISA to steer criminal investigations, a barrier was imposed between the FBI’s counterintelligence agents, on one side, and criminal investigators and prosecutors, on the other. It became practically impossible for the two sides to cooperate and share information. One result was the desired clamping down on potential FISA abuse. But the cure proved worse than the disease. (...) But in the Trump investigation, headquarters became the investigator. And just as an investigator is tempted to keep his supervisors in the dark when he is doing something he shouldn’t do, the Obama Justice Department and FBI withheld information about the Trump investigation from Congress — even though the “Gang of Eight” was supposed to receive quarterly briefings on sensitive matters. They withheld essential information from the FISA court about the source of their information (the Clinton campaign), and about the apparent dishonesty and deep bias of their main witness (Christopher Steele), even as they presented unverified allegations to the FISA court, flouting FBI guidelines. Headquarters exists to prevent investigators, who sometimes get too invested in their cases, from cutting such corners. But here, headquarters was its own supervisor.   [This article was published 2 years and 10 days ago, but this is the first time I’ve seen it. It’s long, but worth reading every word. It was difficult to pick an excerpt because so much of it is important to understanding what really happened in the Mueller and impeachment processes. McCarthy is always worth reading, but this article dramatically demonstrates why. With this information, many things now make sense that previously didn’t. Clarity can be hard to find in the darkness of secrecy. Sometimes, we need a flashlight to shine in the corners and shadowed places because that’s where the skullduggery happens. No wonder Comey and his people felt safe while doing wrong. Now, we know the how and why. Ron P.]

Arab Muslims are People of Color, Arab Christians are White

Arab Muslims are People of Color, Arab Christians are White

Excerpt: Maintaining its proud commitment to printing all the news that will divide Americans by race, sex, and creed, the New York Times published a list of what it claimed were the “922 of the most powerful people in America” while claiming that only 20% of them are people of color. The term “people of color” is already ambiguous enough with white professors, grad students, and NAACP presidents claiming to be black. But the New York Times’ racial list, a thing reeking of Nuremberg and Goebbels, put the paper in charge of deciding who is a person of color by marking them with yellow. It’s a good thing no notorious racist ideology had the same idea. (The Times had previously published a list of members of Congress who had voted against aiding Iran’s nuclear ambitions and terrorist regime by marking Jewish members in yellow.) Like all racist Rohrsarch charts, the Times’ racial list says more about it than about America.

New Kyle Rittenhouse Footage

 New Kyle Rittenhouse Footage

Someone has gone to the trouble of putting together the various videos of the event in Kenosha that led to this young, very well intentioned kid shooting three people.  One can argue he should not ever have gone there, nor taken a weapon with him, but one can also argue he was trying to do some good in a very bad situation and given how violent the crowds have been, being armed was not an unreasonable precaution.
What's important is that he was not the violent one in any way, was not there to attack anyone, everything he did was defensive in a situation where he had every cause to fear for his life.  Note the past records of the people who attacked him, none of them is a choir boy and the survivor clearly states he wanted to kill the young man.  Someone with lesser control might well have shot several people in the mob chasing him.
The criminal charges against him are ridiculous misuse of prosecutorial power, given the very clear evidence of what happened and who was attacking whom.  But they are out to pacify the mob and will try all kinds of stuff to get the kid to plead guilty to something in a "deal".  I hope fundraising is going well for him, lawyers are coming to help, and if the NRA doesn't come to his aid, I'll never give them another dime
