Random Thoughts for September, 2015.

Random Thoughts for September, 2015. By Robert A. Hall
Feel free to post or forward.

August 16th marked the 51st anniversary of my journey to Parris Island, SC to become a Marine. The next three months changed my life forever. My drill instructors, Sgt. E. Owens, Sgt. M. Martin and Sgt. W. Harris gave me self-discipline and tenacity. That has made all the difference. Sgt. Owens is gone now, the other two I know not of, but I can never repay the debt.

People say they like Donald Trump because they like what he says. Of course they do. In recent memory he has been on both sides of every issue, telling the DREAMers they had convinced him, giving money to elect Reid, Pelosi and Hillary, saying we should negotiate with Iran, saying Obama would be better than Bush, supporting single-payer healthcare and so on. Everything he says he has at one time said the opposite. 33% of Republicans say they would not vote for Trump under any circumstances, so his nomination guarantees President Hillary.

Suggested sign for Christian Businesses: "Unattended children will be sold to planned parenthood for parts."

The silver lining to China's economic meltdown is that the weaker they are economically, the less able they are to project military power. The same is true of us, of course.

I didn't call the guy who manages my IRA during the meltdown. His cell breaks up out on the ledge.

I can't wait to find out how the latest market crash is the fault of George Bush, the Koch Brothers and Global Warming.

The major problem we face is that progressives can spout utter nonsense and the media will present it to low-info voters as solid facts, while conservatives can present solid facts and the media will present it as utter nonsense.

Some people have inquiring minds. I seem to have a rambling mind, interested in all kinds of things, wandering among them like a butterfly in a garden.

I ran into another reporter doing an expose at the VA--of the long wait times for elevators.

Some people age like fine wine--others age into vinegar.

People will believe stuff on the Internet they wouldn't believe if a guy told it to them over a beer in a bar.

I just read a wonderful two-volume bio of the great Robert A. Heinlein which reminded me he popularized TANSTAAFL: "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch." It has always been true but politicians still get elected by promising free stuff to low-info, economically-ignorant, entitlement-mentality voters.

I think we should refer to Democrats as "The Free Lunch Party."

I bet you're short of time. Everyone I talk to is. I was short of time when working, but I still am now that I'm medically retired. The only reasonable explanation for a shortage this big is that the government must have put some bureaucratic agency in charge of time. As Milton Friedman said, " If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there'd be a shortage of sand."

Fellow Republicans have complained since 2008 that Obama is a narcissist... and now support Trump?

A liberal friend refers to the large GOP presidential field, 16 Republicans and Democrat-talking horse Trump--as the "Clown Car" I think we can refer to the Democrat field as "The Witch and the Flying Monkeys," though I exempt Jim Webb, a true Marine hero, from that designation.

Having bought a Kindle from Amazon, I have downloaded many of their free Kindle books. Some I've found not worth the price.

I was in Walmart recently wearing a cap with the Marine emblem and the Vietnam service ribbons on it. An employee in his 40s said, "I like your hat." "Thanks," I replied, "It was a privilege to wear the uniform." "World War Two?" he then asked? So much for my conceit that I look younger than I am.

Suppose Nixon had said, "Take my word for it. The only tapes I destroyed were those with personal information on them." Do you think the media or the Congress would have believed him? So why should we believe Hillary?

If you can listen to horse shit with a straight face and an interested look, you may have a future in government.

In Physical Therapy recently, I was talking about the YouTube clip where college students had no idea who had won the Civil war. Turned out the young woman who is the new Resident in PT also had no idea who won. "I'm really bad at history," she said. Ya think? A few days later I asked her what we celebrate on July 4. "Independence," she said. "From who?" I asked. She had no idea. I gave her a book of American History.

Unfortunately, the supply of no-brainer jobs is far exceeded by the supply of no-brainer people.

I hear Iran has adopted a new motto: Allah Mit Uns.

For years the Democrats held Jefferson-Jackson Dinners to celebrate the founders of their party. But it has just come to light that both men were slave holders; who knew? So I hear they will now hold Trotsky-Mao dinners.

If a private company or local government had dumped as much toxic waste into the Animas River as the EPA did, what fines and penalties would the EPA place on them?

If you eliminate candidates because you disagree with them on one issue, you will have no one to vote for.

You cannot win over or reason with a sociopath. Likewise it will not make any difference to a narcissist how much praise you give him, or how many favors you do him. He believes he is entitled to it, and is not grateful for your niggardly effort.

My wife loves the Mercedes G-Class Square SUVs. But the base price is $115,400 so I don't think so.

Whites will believe "Black Lives Matter" when blacks stop killing blacks and Planned Parenthood stops targeting black neighborhoods. Blacks make up 13% of the population, 40% of the abortions (a black genocide) and almost 50% of the murders--mostly of other blacks.

John Kerry said he felt at home in Communist Cuba. Well, of course he did. In Cuba, the government is all powerful. Speech that the government deems as not being political correct is outlawed. People are jailed for speaking out against the government. Only one party is allowed. The government owns all industry and decides where you can work and if you can get an education or a job. People wanting freedom flee the island in small, makeshift boats, risking death. What's not to like for a big-government progressive?

It's no longer press two for Spanish. Recently I was trying to get information on car rentals and also on bus schedules for a friend. Twice I got a native Spanish speaker whose English was so poor we had great trouble understanding each other.

The reason old age has so many miseries is so you won't fear dying.

The first thing a politician being investigated cries is, "Political Witch Hunt." Unless it's a black politician--then it's "Racism!"

You have a better chance of becoming an American if you plan to come through a border tunnel than through a birth canal.

If I was a cop in a big city, I would quit, go to a small town or another line of work. It is one thing to risk death or maiming to protect people from the thugs, but quite another when a large group of the people you are protecting are on the side of the thugs, and you are risking financial and personal ruin by the media, perhaps legal action if pushed to a split second decision that the media/protesters do not like.

There's a big difference between being spot-on and spat-on.

What is ISIS but an all-powerful government using the government's power of coercion to force people to do that which the government thinks is best for them?

Most college students couldn't tell you when the War of 1812 started.

Maybe if we sold the body parts of executed murderers, progressives would support the death penalty.

Sometimes, to save a trip, when I go to the refrigerator or a cabinet, I actually take out what I originally came for so I don't have to go back.

If people say I'm good looking, that proves it. If they say I'm ugly, they are envious, so that proves I'm good looking. If woman want me, it proves I'm good looking. If they don't want me, it proves they are intimidated by my good looks. In point of fact, my good looks are like Global Warming--everything proves it.

It's never too late to become a better person. If you are not now better than you were a year ago, you're not trying. (Age related decline excused. A little.)

I have to weigh myself every morning. I try to do it with as few clothes as possible (sorry for the visual). But It's only fair to make allowances for things I do have on. For example, I deduct 10 lbs. for a night shirt, 3 lbs. for a watch, 1 lb. for a wedding ring and so on.

My wife said she was going to do something I thought unlikely. When I didn't respond, she said, "You don't believe me, do you?" "It's not that," I said, "It's that I don't get too interesting in events that will fall one standard deviation beyond my life expectancy."

Every once in a while the media gets riled up about banning high speed chases by the police. They never think about the pain, harm and deaths that will result when thugs and rapists know if they flee, the police won't follow, leaving them free to strike again.

They are not anchor babies--they are unviable masses of tissue.

Both Dylann Roof and Vester Lee Flanagan suffered from RDD (Racial Derangement Disorder). But the media, which was hot on the racist motive of Roof for the church shootings, have been tiptoeing around the racist motive of Flanagan. Because Roof was pictured with a Rebel Battle Flag, it had to be banned. Flanagan, who was gay, was pictured with an Obama button and reportedly owned a gay pride flag...

I understand the world has a lot of jerks. But is it too much to ask that some of them stay home when I'm driving?

Not only do I shop thrift shops, I often wait until they have a sale or senior day.

With all the migrants dying trying to get into Europe, I wonder if the EU has checked out the US market for body parts.

Old is when you go to put your CPAP mask on and discover you have forgotten to take out your hearing aids.

You know your marriage is in trouble when your contact information is on Ashley Madison--and your wife put it there.

There is a simple explanation for why Holder stonewalled the Fast and Furious documents, why Obama and Hillary stonewalled the Benghazi investigation, why Lois Learner's emails went missing, why Hillary's home server was wiped clean: "For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." --John 3:20

Do you think the unions oppose free trade because they care about the country, the economy, the middleclass or any workers who don't pay dues to keep the union bosses in style?

Some worth-reading political news and opinion, with graphics and satire!

Book Recommendations: Robert A. Heinlein: In Dialogue with His Century: Volume 1: Learning Curve 1907-1948 by William H. Patterson
Robert A. Heinlein: In Dialogue with His Century, Vol. 2- The Man Who Learned Better, 1948-1988 by William H. Patterson
This wonderful two-volume authorized biography of the great writer was passed to me by Ron Pittenger, a close Marine buddy since 1964. I became a veracious reader as a child, and many writers have influenced my world view and values: Leon Uris's war novels, Kipling's poetry and Donald Hamilton's Matt Helm series among others. But no writer, maybe no person has had a greater influence on me than Robert A. Heinlein. I discovered his juveniles when I was in 8th grade, and from then until after his death I read everything that Heinlein wrote that I could find. Starship Troopers and Time Enough for Love are still my favorites, but I never read anything by Heinlein that I didn't like. He developed the fiend of Science Fiction into what it is today, but his novels grew beyond SF into the mainstream. I still miss him, though I'm glad he cannot see the state of his beloved country and the world today. Heinlein called me once, about 1987, to urge me to support Ambassador Jeane J. Kirkpatrick for president. I agreed--one does not say no to Robert Heinlein. We had corresponded through Ginny since my time in the state senate, and I continued with her until her death in Florida. We received a call from her caregiver that she had passed. Heinlein was a political activist, first as a liberal, but when the Democrats moved left to become statists, he found himself supporting Republicans. He was seminal in the development of our space program, and took a lead in modernizing the blood collection services in the US. I was interested to read of the intricacies of the writing business and his many struggles with editors. I guess I naively assumed that anyone who was that great a writer simply sent in the ms. and it was published. His continuing sales, long after his death, suggest that his views on publishing and what the public wanted were correct. I was also interested to learn of his many health challenges--and inspiration for anyone dealing with the similar problems. Reading this bio--you must read both books!--drove me to pull the uncut version of Stranger in a Strange Land from the bookshelf where it had languished for years. I'm reading it as I write. If you haven't read Heinlein's fiction, I recommend it to you. If you have, you will find this bio deeply moving.

That Time Donald Trump Had A Meeting With DREAMers And Said “You Convinced Me” On Immigration

White Lives Matter? Suspect in 2 murders on live TV has shot himself
Black shooter, white victims, no riots or looting, no flags to take down. The only reason it is getting media play is because they were journalists; average citizens, even cops, would have been dropped by now. Or troops killed in Afghanistan. ~Bob

Straight Lives Matter? Black, Gay Reporter Murders Straight, White Journalists — Media Blame The Gun
Excerpt: Williams is black. Parker and Ward were white. Williams is gay. Parker and Ward were straight. None of which would be relevant, except that Williams specifically cited his identity as a factor in the killings. In a 23-page rambling letter sent to ABC News, Williams wrote that the Charleston church shooting in June should have provoked a race war: “Why did I do it? I put a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15…What sent me over the top was the church shooting…You want a race war (deleted)? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE …(deleted)!!!”

Did you see this in our media? 'He was the human tape recorder': How TV murderer was criticized by bosses for appalling journalistic standards and reprimanded for wearing an Obama badge to report on elections
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3212142/The-human-tape-recorder-TV-murderer-criticized-bosses-appalling-journalistic-standards-reprimanded-wearing-Obama-badge-report-elections.html?utm_source=jolt&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Jolt08272015&utm_term=Jolt
Excerpt: He was also censured for wearing an Obama sticker while recording a segment at a polling booth during the 2012 US Presidential Election - a clear breach of journalistic impartiality.

Suddenly Media Worried Over Reporting Race-Based Motive Of Killer Of White Reporters
Both Dylann Roof and Vester Lee Flanagan suffered from RDD. But the media was hot on the racist motive of Roof for the church shootings, have been tiptoeing around the racist motive of Flanagan. Because Roof was pictured with a Rebel Battle Flag, it had to be banned. Flanagan was pictured with an Obama button... ~Bob

The Virginia Shooter Passed a Background Check. by CHARLES C. W. COOKE
http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/423138/virginia-shooter-passed-background-check-charles-c-w-cooke
Excerpt: They want an “assault weapons” ban; they want a magazine-size limit; and they want background checks on private sales. And, clearly, they are quite happy to point to this incident in order to make their case. But, as we now know, this shooting has nothing to do with any of these things. The killer used a Glock 19 handgun, which is not an “assault weapon” in any universe. He fired eight shots in total. And he bought his gun legally from a dealer. In other words, he did nothing that even intersects with their coveted laws. Once again, one gets the horrible impression that the gun-control movement is in possession of a laundry list of desires, and that they bring it out whenever anything bad happens, relevance be damned . . .

Excerpt: Just as with the recent “study” that purported to show that “right-wing extremists” were more of a threat than Islamic jihadists, in saying this Obama is probably leaving out 9/11. And if even a fraction of the foiled jihad plots had come to fruition, this would be an even more risible claim than it is.

WaPo Fact Checker: Why you shouldn’t retweet Sanders’s claim that Hitler ‘won an election’
Sanders, whose campaign did respond to a query, brought this up in the context of being Jewish and what that had taught him about politics. But while there were many elections held in Germany in 1932, Hitler was a loser when he appeared on the ballot. He mostly gained power not through the voting booth but through violence, intimidation and deceit. Calling it “an election” devalues the traumatic history of the era, and Sanders should clarify the record — especially when legions of his fans are repeating his flawed history lesson all over the Internet. Use Our Senatorial Nuclear Option to Stop Iran’s Radioactive Nuclear Option. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt
A simple proposal: To stop Iran’s nukes, use our own nuclear option. Scrap the filibuster, pass a resolution declaring the Iran deal a treaty that requires Senate authorization, introduce the text of the Iran deal, and vote it down. Remember, Democrats got rid of the filibuster for nominations in 2013, arguing that GOP obstructionism was interfering with the president’s constitutional authority to make judicial appointments. The Constitution requires Senatorial consent to treaties. The administration claims the Iran deal isn’t a treaty because they think it has “become physically impossible“ to pass a treaty in the Senate. Do you think Iran will honor its side of the agreement? Probably not, right? Even if they do, do you think Iran will attempt to build a nuke quickly when the deal expires? Certainly, right? Do you think that if Iran gets a nuke, they will use it? Pretty darn likely, right? So, congressional Republicans . . . what are you willing to do to prevent a mushroom cloud either in the Middle East or closer to home?

SAVING AMERICA. by JAMES LYONS
Excerpt: Never in my lifetime, did I believe I would witness our great country being taken down and withdrawn from our world leadership role by our own administration.  The latest example is the flawed agreement with Iran on their nuclear weapons program.  This needs to be seen as another manifestation of President Barack Obama’s goal to fundamentally transform America.  All of the known concessions made by our administration to Iran, the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism that has been at war with us for over 35 years, and has caused the loss of thousands of American lives, including the key support to the 9/11 hijackers without which that terrorist attack could not have been carried out, humiliated us before our friends, allies and most importantly, our enemies. We have been sabotaged from within. ... James A. Lyons, U.S. Navy retired Admiral, was commander-in-chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet and senior U.S. military representative to the United Nations.

Prop. 47 looking like well-intentioned blunder: Thomas Elias
Excerpt: This was the ballot measure that turned some “minor” felonies into misdemeanor crimes, thus easing the crowding in state prisons and many county jails. It has unquestionably helped some ex-felons rebuild their lives.
But as crime statistics for the first half of this year pour in from around the state, this measure looks worse and worse, on balance. The numbers are bearing out warnings Proposition 47 opponents made in their official ballot argument against the initiative before it passed by a whopping 60-40 percent margin.

Trump-mania may burn itself out. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt

Trump-mania may burn itself out. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt
Morning Jolt is well worth subscribing to. And it's free. ~Bob

1. Wearing out his welcome: While Trump has been a celebrity for decades, Americans rarely gave him a serious look through the political lens. He’s something remarkably new on the political scene -- a populist billionaire, entertainingly combative in every interview, offering stream-of-consciousness commentary in his speeches, calling in to major news programs and appearing on television all that time. He’s devouring all the media oxygen. No candidate on either side generates that “what’s he going to say next?” curiosity.

But how will people feel about his larger-than-life personality after three months, six months, a year? How will people feel about his style when it’s not new? Will Americans want this in their living rooms for four years or eight years?

2. His overall polling isn’t that great. He’s still got some fervent Republican opposition:
A Quinnipiac national poll taken before the debate, for example, found that 30 percent of Republican-primary voters would never support Trump, the highest number among all the candidates. A late-July Fox national poll similarly found that 33 percent of GOP voters would never support Trump in the primary.

He’s got a 58 percent unfavorable rating among registered voters; 58 percent of registered Republicans and Republican-leaning independents think the party has a better chance with someone else. Among women in the sample, it splits 34 percent to 61 percent.

(Note Jeb Bush has a 57 percent unfavorable rating; a wise voice said to me this weekend, “If Jeb Bush gets the nomination, it means everything the Tea Party stood for was for naught. It means conservative activists don’t really matter, and we really are a monarchist party with a royal family.” If the race comes down to Trump, Bush, and somebody else, there are going to be a lot of Republicans gravitating to that somebody else.)

3. The 3 a.m. phone call: Who advises Trump on military policy? Perhaps no one, really:
When Donald Trump, the reality show tycoon turned GOP front-runner, appeared on Meet the Press this past Sunday, host Chuck Todd askedhim, “Who do you talk to for military advice right now?” At first, Trump had no direct answer. He replied, “Well, I watch the shows. I mean, I really see a lot of great—you know, when you watch your show and all of the other shows and you have the generals and you have certain people that you like.” Todd pressed him: “But is there a go-to for you?” Trump said he had two or three “go-to” advisers. He named John Bolton, one of the most hawkish neoconservatives, and retired Army Col. Jack Jacobs, who is a military analyst for MSNBC and NBC News. “Col. Jack Jacobs is a good guy,” Trump said. “And I see him on occasion.”

There’s just one problem with Trump citing Jacobs as a national security adviser: Jacobs says he has never talked to Trump about military policy.

“He may have said the first person who came to mind,” Jacobs tellsMother Jones. “I know him. But I’m not a consultant. I’m not certain if he has a national security group of people. I don’t know if he does or if he doesn’t. If he does, I’m not one of them.”
Jacobs, who received a Medal of Honor (and two Silver Stars, three Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts) for his service in Vietnam, notes that he has attended numerous charity events where Trump was present. “I’ve seen him at a number of functions,” he says. But Jacobs adds that he has had no discussions with Trump about national security affairs—at those events or anywhere else.

Trump’s style is indisputably appealing to many Republican voters, but can they picture him in the White Situation Room during a crisis? Would he resolve the situation or exacerbate it?

Excerpt: The new stamps indicate that some of Clinton’s emails from her time as the nation’s most senior diplomat are filled with a type of information the U.S. government and the department’s own regulations automatically deems classified from the get-go — regardless of whether it is already marked that way or not.

EXCLUSIVE: Hillary's email firm was run from a loft apartment with its servers in the BATHROOM, raising new questions over security of sensitive messages she held

I've never had a doubt that foreign governments were reading her mail. if hackers can get into the US Government websites, as we know they can, certainly a small, private server would be many times as vulnerable--and the SoS is the second highest target after POTUS. ~Bob

Worth Reading: Why Democrats Can’t Confront What Hillary Has Done. By Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt (I again urge you to subscribe to Morning Jolt.)
The Democratic Party is about to have a breakdown. For at least the past four years, if not longer, the average Democrat, when asked about the nominee-in-waiting, will respond, “Hillary Clinton is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I’ve ever known in my life.” Oh, sure, they may not be able to think of any accomplishments, and they may gripe about her ties to Wall Street. They may openly acknowledge that she lied about her e-mail server. Her team may openly gloat that no one cares whether she followed. But most of that they hand-wave away. She’s just doing it because she has such ruthless enemies. Everybody does it, she’s judged by an unfair, harsher standard than everyone else. The problem is that there isn’t really a good reason to keep lots of classified information on a private server. We’re talking about information from the National Security Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (spy satellite images), the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Central Intelligence Agency.
The Director of the DIA at the time Hillary was at the State Department said there’s a “very high” chance her e-mails were hacked by foreign intelligence -- Chinese, Russians, or others. “Likely. They’re very good at it. You know, China, Russia, Iran, potentially the North Koreans. Other countries that are quote-unquote our allies, because they can.” This sort of decision is just stupid. It’s dangerous for herself, for everyone she e-mails, for the Obama administration, and of course, for national security. It’s an astonishingly short-sighted risk-reward calculation, to escape Freedom of Information Act requests and Congressional subpoenas by putting your communications at risk of being read by Russia’s foreign-intelligence service or the Chinese Ministry of State Security or God knows who else. The problem for Democrats is that their worldview rests upon their leaders’ being the smart ones. They’re the ones who are wrapped up in “smart power.” They’re the ones sophisticated enough to “empathize with our enemies.” It’s those knuckle-dragging Republicans, those neocon warmongers, those paranoid xenophobes, those backwards hicks who just don’t understand how the world works. All it takes to get Russia to behave better is a reset button. The fall of Muammar Qaddafi in Libya deserves a “victory lap.” Syria’s Bashir Assad is a “reformer” and “the road to Damascus is the road to peace.” If Democrats acknowledge Hillary made a stupid and consequential decision, everything else built upon that perception of intellectual and judgmental superiority crumbles. Yes, it erodes the case for her to be commander-in-chief. But what’s more, it forces Democrats to look at what their foreign-policy philosophy has really generated. Has the outstretched hand really thawed relations with hostile states? Have the concessions made to hostile states changed their behavior, rhetoric, or policies? Are international institutions really responsive to horrific mass violence? Is the world safer? Are human rights more respected? Are extremist groups waning or thriving and expanding?

A Willing Suspension of Disbelief. By Bruce Walker
Excerpt: Leftism is a pathology of mendacity.  When Obama told us that his grandfather liberated Auschwitz, that was a gratuitous fabrication – he could have honestly stated that his grandfather was part of the army that helped liberate concentration camps in western Germany, but truth means so little to him that inventing the Auschwitz fable pinged no conscience at all.  In the same way, when Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton told America that she was named “Hillary” in honor of Sir Edmond Hillary climbing Mt. Everest, even though that happened years after Mrs. Clinton was born, that also was an effortless deception, because to her, truth has value only when it is helpful.

The Iran Deal is Everything Bad About Obama in One Package. By Daniel Greenfield

AP Exclusive: UN to let Iran inspect alleged nuke work site
Yep, they get to inspect themselves sometimes.  What a deal!  So the arsonist gets to examine the reported arson fire, the rapist gets to interview the rape victim, the pickpocket gets to check on how the victim got robbed?  I love it.  Just when you think they've pulled all the insane crap possible, they come and surprise you again. --Del. Seems normal to the Obama administration. Every time there's a scandal they investigate themselves and find not a smidgeon of corruption. ~Bob

Out-Of-Control Big Government Is Destroying Us. By Victor Davis Hanson
Going back to the founding of the nation, the debate was always about whether to allow Big Government or not, with the bulk of the Founders against it in general, and the Bill of Rights written specifically as safeguards against giant government. Over the centuries the government has grown much larger than any of the Founders ever envisioned, but of course as times changed some growth was necessary.  We do need an environmental agency, a safety agency, a tax collection agency, etc.  Maybe not a Dept of Education, but certainly no agency so big and powerful that it no longer really answers to anyone, no agencies who become politicized, yet we have stark examples of both ongoing. Obama is a true believer in Big Government run by the proper elite, and has been pushing that since the day he got into office.  He doesn't care what "the people" want, he is one of those who KNOWS what is the right thing to do and no one is going to slow him down from doing it.  He behaves much more like an emperor than a President, and the media have been giving him a pass on that.  He threatens people, defames them, belittles them, if they don't go along with his ideas.  He doesn't understand nor care about the military, it's all social programs that have his focus.  And he is too often slanted on racism, our race relations after six years of his being in office are enormously worse than when he started. But enough of my comments....  Hanson talks about the mess that we're in now with Big Government and out of control agencies.  This is why people like me figure even a poor GOP President in 2017 will be preferable to any more Democrat enlargement of the government. --Del

Obama Declares War On Natural Gas
The general war on coal is really pretty bad, will wipe out jobs, make energy more expensive, and of course actually do next to nothing in terms of reducing worldwide CO2 emission.  But to then go even further, to this latest bit of control/control/control, is really nuts, since what they're attacking now is actually a good thing even if you believe in manmade Climate Change.  But it's the natural part of fanaticism without any bounds, where you keep taking off heads even when all your enemies have run away.  This is just the consequence of putting fanatics in charge and giving them a free pass to do anything and everything that comes to their minds.  Meanwhile, if you really believed in the need for cheap, CO2 free energy, you'd be providing huge incentives to nuclear power, thorium plants in particular that create a fraction of the waste of the old plants and even use up some of the old waste.  But they're not doing that either, because the ecofanatics don't believe in nuclear power either, the French with their 75% national power source and no accidents be damned. Among the first things a new GOP President will need to do is cut the EPA way, way back, retire a lot of the fanatics, trim their mission back to what it was and needs to be, and find out who let loose 3 million gallons of heavy metal contamination and fire them.  (Which oddly enough, is not happening under present leadership.) --Del)
