Obamacare and other political news to ruin your weekend

As you can see, pulling a few political emails, but can't get to all of them due to the health issues. Lots on Obamacare again, grouped at the end. Have also read some good books, will try to get to doing reviews of them.

I see the blog has gone over 1.2M pages views since October of 2008, about 17,000 in the past month. This has slowed as my health challenges have cut the number of posts I can do, but as always I thank those who contribute and those who read the news here. Yu at least try to be informed citizens, and I hope I help with that. ~Bob

Book recommendation: Ever Wonder Why? And Other Controversial Essays. By Thomas Sowell
I was picking up a copy of Walter William's excellent Race and Economics in Half Price Books, and stumbled over this Sowell book, a twofer! This is a collection of Sowell's pre-2006 columns, which he felt had enduring relevance. they are organized by topic: cultural issues, political issues, economic issues, racial issues, etc. Everyone is worth reading for his insight and ability to communicate clearly. But, like Georg4 Orwell's barnyard communists, "some animals are more equal than others." You won't regret the time spent reading these gems.

College Courses, Alas Not A Joke
I received the message below from a friend who is a professor at a small college, which is about to be joined to a nearby university. The list of new subjects for possible new courses is truly impressive. If this had not come from someone I know, I would have thought it was made up by some conservative blogger as a joke. But it's real, and actually, it's not funny. As a symptom of where higher education has gone in this country, it's not funny at all, it's damn tragic. And scary. --Del. PS- in all honesty, I am not sure what some of these phrases actually mean.... ecofeminism? -- The names don't matter, Del. They all mean, "The Taxpayers need to be milked of more of the money they earned to pay to correct these perceived injustices." And, of course, to provide jobs for liberal professors teaching thing that make them feel good, but provide no education needed in the economy. And to provide dollars to the universities through loans that the students will have to pay off flipping burgers--but who cares about the students? ~Bob

Just for laughs, here are the new areas my department will be considering for our integration with ********* University:
1. Global Inequality
2. Civil Religion in America
3. Gender in Science and Technology
4. Gender and Women's Studies (note: this is not to be confused with the study of women, guys)
5. Gender in a Global Context
6. Transnational Feminisms
and my personal favorite...wait for it...
7. Ecofeminism

Transparency, Accountability and Openness. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: Truth and honesty and principle and morals and ethics are expectations, if you will, assumptions, made (perhaps naively so) by truthful, honest, principled, morally-driven, and ethical people when thinking transparency, accountability and openness.

University Professor: Climate Change Deniers Should Be Jailed
http://lastresistance.com/5070/university-professor-climate-change-deniers-jailed/
Excerpt: Yes, you read that correctly. There is actually a professor at a university who is arguing that “climate change deniers” should be jailed. This is a perfect example of liberal philosophy gone too far. In fact, this is further proof of my belief that any liberal philosophy taken to its logical extension, and played out to its end, will demonstrate just how bafflingly frightening liberalism is.

While Obama & the Democrats are Seeking Gun Confiscation, State Republicans Are Squashing Gun Owner’s Rights
Excerpt: We have reported extensively on how the Obama administration and the Democrats in Washingtonalong with Republicans, have been pushing for an ultimate goal, which is gun confiscation. However, many people are under the impression that just because an elected official or candidate has an "R" behind his name, that person is all for gun owner's rights. Nothing could be further from the truth and here's the evidence.

Excerpt: The only way to avoid calamity is to adopt egalitarian methods of resource distribution if resource consumption is limited and distributed equally — eerily reminiscent of those who champion population control or communism. “Collapse can be avoided, and population can reach a steady state at the maximum carrying capacity, if the rate of depletion of nature is reduced to a sustainable level, and if resources are distributed equitably,” according to the report.

Technology and Wisdom: Tech advancements make it too easy to forget age-old realities. By Victor Davis Hanson
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/373725/technology-and-wisdom-victor-davis-hanson
Excerpt: Americans now have more computer power in their smart phones than did the Pentagon in all its computer banks just 30 years ago. We board a sophisticated jet and assume that the flight is no more dangerous than crossing the street. The downside of this complete reliance on computer gadgetry is a fundamental ignorance of what technology is. Smart machines are simply the pumps that deliver the water of knowledge — not knowledge itself.

Worth Reading: Moscow signals concern for Russians in Estonia
Excerpt: Russia signaled concern on Wednesday at Estonia's treatment of its large ethnic Russian minority, comparing language policy in the Baltic state with what it said was a call in Ukraine to prevent the use of Russian. Russia has defended its annexation of Ukraine's Crimea peninsula by arguing it has the right to protect Russian-speakers outside its borders, so the reference to linguistic tensions in another former Soviet republic comes at a highly sensitive moment. (I don't want to depress you. And I don't want to panic you. But I'm starting to think our guy in the Oval Office is getting seriously outmatched by the former KGB agent. Estonia is a member of NATO. Here's how Our Guy is spending Thursday: http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/03/19/president-obama-ellen-degeneres/ --Jim Geraghty, Morning Jolt.)

Making Putin pay. By Marco Rubio
Excerpt: Vladimir Putin’s annexation of Crimea is a direct challenge and long-term threat to the post-World War II international order for which the United States and our allies have made great sacrifices over the past seven decades. If Putin is allowed to take land from a neighboring nation through deceit and raw military force without serious consequences, the precedent could have global repercussions, including in Asia. Some have suggested that Crimea is not worth triggering tensions with Russia, given other interests that are more important. While it is best to avoid conflict whenever possible, history shows that illegitimate aggressions that go unchallenged are a virtual guarantee of even more dangerous conflict in the future.

Hillary Clinton says she is ‘personally skeptical’ about an Iran nuclear deal
Excerpt: Hillary Rodham Clinton cast doubt on the interim nuclear agreement with Iran, saying in a muscular policy speech here Wednesday night that she is “personally skeptical” that Iran’s leaders will follow through on a comprehensive agreement to end their march toward nuclear weapons. (Skeptical? About Obama's great diplomatic breakthrough? Perish the thought! ~Bob)

Obama's Facebook Strategy for Ukraine. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: The left has confused the overlay, its commentaries and memes, for reality. It has come to believe that The Daily Show is real news, that Obama is a real leader and that a Twitter hashtag is real power. The Russian soldiers in Crimea are a reminder that, as Mao said, “Every Communist must grasp the truth: Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.” The Western left has forgotten the simple truth that no Eastern leftist has ever become decadent enough to forget.

What Hatewatchers Watch. By John Derbyshire
Excerpt: As a clue to what actually happens when black ‘n’ brown numbers rise to a majority, the Uncle Tims might want to check out the last dozen presidents of Mexico or Brazil, who don’t look anything like California lettuce-pickers or Carnavaleras

Obama Says Putin is Weak, Agrees to Let Him Conquer Ukraine. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: At this rate, why not just dismantle NATO and let Russia have its old empire back? 'Obama said Wednesdaythat the U.S. would not take military action in Ukraine against Russia. “We are not going to be getting into a military excursion in Ukraine,” Obama said in an interview Wednesday with KNSD, the NBC affiliate in San Diego. “I think even the Ukrainians would acknowledge, for us to engage Russia militarily would not be appropriate and would not be good for Ukraine, either,” Obama added.' Yes, I’m sure they would absolutely hate to be saved from being conquered.

American Physical Society see the light. Will it be the first major scientific institution to reject the Global Warming Consensus. By James Delingpole
http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-London/2014/03/20/American-Physical-Society-Sees-The-Light-Will-It-Be-The-First-Major-Scientific-Institution-To-Reject-The-Global-Warming-Consensus
Excerpt: As Anthony Watts has noted, this is news guaranteed to make a Warmist's head explode. The reason it's so significant is that it comes only three years after one of the APS's most distinguished members - Professor Hal Lewis - resigned in disgust at its endorsement of what he called "the global warming scam." Disturbed by an "appallingly tendentious APS statement on Climate Change" which "was apparently written in a hurry by a few people over lunch, and is certainly not representative of the talents of APS members", Lewis went public with his letter of resignation to the APS's then President Curtis G Callan Jr. (Callan's replacement Malcolm Beasley appears to be of a more skeptical bent...)

Excerpt: Sometime people in government have to keep secrets. So naturally, the “single working mother” in the White House gets a vacation in which reporters are not allowed to come along.

Oliver Stone Confronted for His Cozy Relationships with Dictators
Excerpt: Stone has amassed a huge fortune during his lifetime living in the presumably capitalist USA and yet criticizes our economic system as often as he can. One wonders if he could have become so wealthy living in the type of government he wishes we would be? (Probably not.) Other than his hypocrisy on capitalism he's also been hypocritical about the friends he's made - cozying up to murderous villains like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro.

FEMINIST DRIVEL: Here’s 5 Reasons Why This Young Lady Ain’t Buying It
Excerpt: I am a 22 year old female. I can vote. I can run for office. I can receive equal pay. I can get an equal education.

WAPO: Obama doesn't grasp Putin's Eurasian ambitions. By Rick Moran
Excerpt: An editorial in the Washington Post exposes the Obama administration as the naive claque they appear to be. "Western officials seem to be betting that Mr. Putin won’t dare to extend his aggression beyond Crimea. But then, just last week they were saying they did not expect Moscow to move quickly on Crimean annexation. The Obama administration and its European allies have been too slow to grasp that Mr. Putin is bent on upending the post-Cold War order in Europe and reversing Russia’s loss of dominion over Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia."

Putin’s Crimean History Lesson. By John Cassidy
Excerpt: President Vladimir Putin’s defiant speech in Moscow on Tuesday, which he followed up by signing a draft treaty to make the Crimea part of Russia, can be interpreted in two ways. The optimistic reading is that the Russian leader’s revanchism, and his railing against the West, is, essentially, an acknowledgement of his country’s weakness, and of the reduced circumstances in which it finds itself two decades after the collapse of Communism. The pessimistic view is that the effective annexation of Crimea marks the beginning of something new and ominous: not another Cold War but, rather, a revival of a chauvinistic and expansive Russian nationalism that goes back to the tsars. (Nice analysis from a Liberal source. --Del)

The Paradox of Pacifism: Seven Things the Anti-Interventionists Forgot to Tell Putin. By Robert Tracinski
Excerpt: Over the past few weeks, the foreign policy anti-interventionists—a coalition of cynical establishment "realists," blame-America-first leftists, and libertarian millennials disillusioned by the Iraq War—have given us a lot of excellent advice about the potential costs of getting involved in the conflict over Ukraine, about the dangers of escalation, about the virtue of caution. Somehow they forgot to tell any of this to Vladimir Putin, who has spent his time assembling a massive buildup of Russian troops, tanks, and helicopters on the Ukrainian border. (I think this article comes under the heading of disguised sarcasm. But it's nicely done. --Del)

Say It Ain't So, Joe! From The Patriot Post
You knew it was coming. While visiting Poland this week to "reassure our allies" in Eastern Europe that everything will be all right, Joe Biden dug once again into his repertoire of profound gaffes by blithering about another faux achievement. "Fifteen years ago, I was honored, as the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, to lead the fight for Poland's admission into NATO," he bragged. Only problem is, he wasn't chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee: "Former Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.) had been chairman of the committee at the time Poland campaigned to join NATO," reports The Hill. "Helms initiated the floor debate over whether Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary should join NATO." Sending Biden to address our allies was bad enough; giving them even more reason to fear strongman Vladimir Putin is hardly reassuring.

Young girl from New Orleans University talks about Israel

‘This Is the Last Territorial Demand I Have to Make in Europe.’ By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: Vladimir Putin all but said the above yesterday, after annexing the Crimea — and promising to let alone the rest of the Ukraine. If we just insert Ukraine and Russia for Czechoslovakia and Germany, the following speech could easily be Putin’s:

Younger, Educated and Affluent – The UK's Terror Sympathizers
Excerpt: A British research study of Muslim radicalization is challenging some key conventional wisdom. It identifies "youth, wealth, and being in full-time education" as potential risk factors
Less than 3 percent of the 600 British Muslims surveyed by London's Queen Mary University were sympathetic with terrorism, while another 6 percent "remained neutral."
But those with the highest sympathy were respondents born in the United Kingdom, under age 20 and full time students.

We Can't Pay for All This. From The Patriot Post
CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf is no stranger to adding up the cost of congressional schemes. In February, the CBO outlined some of the costs imposed on the nation by ObamaCare, which turns four on Sunday. Less work and more federal spending about sums it up. Elmendorf had fresh warnings this week, saying we just can't pay for all this massive government expansion: "So we have a choice as a society to either scale back those programs relative to what is promised under current law; or to raise tax revenue above its historical average to pay for the expansion of those programs; or to cut back on all other spending even more sharply than we already are." The challenge isn't so much annual deficits, he said, as "the very high level of debt" over the long term. Call it what we've been calling it all along: A debt bomb.

The Invasion Will be Catered. By Charles Krauthammer
Excerpt: Early in the Ukraine crisis, when the Europeans were working on bringing Ukraine into the EU system and Vladimir Putin was countering with threats and bribes, one British analyst lamented that “we went to a knife fight with a baguette.” That was three months ago. Life overtakes parody. During the Ukrainian prime minister's visit to Washington last week, his government urgently requested military assistance. The Pentagon refused. It offered instead military ration kits. (Give them C-rat Ham and Limas--it'll make them fighting mad! ~Bob)

Nine killed in Kabul hotel gun attack
Excerpt: Two children and four foreign nationals were among the dead, the official said.
Special forces shot the gunmen. The Taliban said it was behind the assault.

Kenyan polygamy law: Female MPs storm out of parliament
Excerpt: The law is intended to bring civil law, where a man is only allowed one wife, into line with customary law, where some cultures allow multiple partners. But male MPs voted to amend the new marriage bill to allow men to take as many wives as they like without consulting existing spouses. (The real War on Women, supported by Progressives because "All Cultures are equally valid." Except of course, ours. ~Bob)

Worth Reading: What the Post-American World Will Look Like. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: The United States, Russia and China are post-ideological states. Russia and China have abandoned Communism. The United States is even abandoning nationalism; to say nothing of capitalism, democracy or freedom. Its rulers cling to scraps of global leftist ideology that isolate them from their own people. Russia, China and the United States are all demographically unstable. Russia and the United States are both on track to majority-minority status. China’s demographic disaster will be the outcome of its one child policies, gendercide and its war on the countryside.

Wisconsin Gov’t Workers Spend Thousands on Netflix: Four bureacracies spend taxpayer money on streaming entertainment
Excerpt: Wisconsin taxpayers are footing the bill for thousands of dollars in state government subscriptions to Netflix.com. Four sprawling state bureaucracies combined spent $4,819.36 in fiscal year 2013 on Netflix subscriptions. Those agencies are the Department of Corrections, the Department of Public Instruction, the Department of Health Services and the Department of Transportation. The Department of Corrections spent more than any other agency.

Obama Hijacks Symbol of Liberty and Independence to Sell Tyranny
Excerpt: Despite the reality of Obamacare, especially it being government imposed tyranny with a fine, or tax, on the people for non-compliance, Barack Obama has decided to attempt to hijack the symbol used in the fight for liberty and independence, dating back to when Christopher Gadsden designed It during the American Revolution, to push his massive government intrusion into the lives of every American. Of course, who else would help push such propaganda than Nancy Pelosi’s daughter.

Liberals Want Us To Run Jeb Bush In 2016
Excerpt: The Republican Party never seems to learn. More specifically, it seems as though Republican voters never seem to learn. How many times can we get fleeced because the media tells us that a certain candidate is the right one? It has happened time and time again. This tradition goes back quite a ways, but the most egregious example of the Left hijacking our Party is from 2008.

A Single Mom's (Not So) Thank You Letter to Obama
Excerpt: When an economy goes south, the people who are hurt the most are the ones at the lowest levels of the economic ladder. Over the last 8 years of Democrat control of Congress, the last 6 with Obama in the White House, our economy has stagnated at the lowest levels since the Great Depression. In fact, Democrat policies have only made things even more difficult for the poorest in our nation, and the ideas they continue to push promise even more hardship in the future…

Israel Uncovers "Advanced" Hamas Tunnel
Excerpt: Israeli military officials say they uncovered a Hamas tunnel that might be the largest yet discovered. It runs hundreds of meters into Israel from Gaza and posed "a direct link and threat to Israeli territory, and enable Hamas terrorists to reach and harm Israeli civilians." Similar tunnels have been built with the intent of launching terrorist attacks and trying to kidnap Israeli soldiers.

Obamacare Articles

Poll: Latinos souring on Obamacare
Excerpt: A new poll shows Latinos -- a fast-growing and key demographic in American elections -- aren't as fond of Obamacare as they once were. The Pew Research Center poll showed Hispanics are split on whether they approve of President Obama's health-care law, with 47 percent approving and 47 percent disapproving.

Coming in 2015: Obamacare Premiums to 'Double in Some Parts of the Country.' By Guy Benson
Excerpt: Kathleen Sebelius acknowledged in Congressional testimony last week that Obamacare premiums will rise in 2015, retreating to the sad spin that the rate increases would be lower than they might have in a hypothetical universe. Setting aside the fact that all Americans were promised substantially lower rates, Sebelius' hedging is belied by a report in The Hill entitled, "O-Care premiums to skyrocket:" (Safely after the midterm elections--breath easy, democrats. ~Bob)

Hilarious: Notorious Democratic Underground Blogger Tries Obamacare. By Thomas Lifson
http://americanthinker.com/blog/2014/03/hilarious_notorious_democratic_underground_blogger_tries_obamacare.html
Excerpt: An Obama dupe has had his eyes opened by the experience of trying to sign up for Obamacare, and the results are hilarious for conservatives to read. P. J. Gladnick of Newsbusters chronicles the tale of Will Pitt, the guy who soared to fame with the 2006 “scoop” that Karl Rove would be indicted and frog marched out of the White House. Yes, that obnoxious jerk. Well, he has learned that his guy Obama is not quite as cool as he thought, and as Gladnick puts it, “Harry Reid is going to have a hard time portraying Will Pitt as a Koch brothers shill...”

Pelosi: It's 'Affordable,' I Tell You! From The Patriot Post
This Sunday marks four long years since the passage of the monstrosity known as ObamaCare. Only don't call it that around Nancy Pelosi. She recently bawled out a reporter for referring to it that way -- even though the president himself has said, "I actually like the name." "[B]y the way, it's called the Affordable Care Act," she scolded. "I know you didn't intend ... anything derogatory, but it's called the Affordable Care Act. I tell [Obama] the same thing I told you. Affordable, affordable -- there's a reason. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable. Affordable." We'd say calling it "affordable" is derogatory, but to each her own we suppose. In any case, Pelosi still insists that Democrats will run successfully on ObamaCare this fall, because, she says, "I believe it's a winner." Evidently, she still hasn't found out what's in it.

Excerpt: On Thursday, Nancy Pelosi held a news conference to celebrate the approximate 4th anniversary of Obamacare. Pelosi said that the issue is a winner for swing district Dems in November’s elections, though swing district Dems might beg to differ. (If it's so affordable, we could save big by requiring al Federal Employees, including members of Congress, to get their insurance from Healthcare.gov. Taxpayers pay for a Silver Plan for them, anything else is affordable on their own dime. ~Bob)

Excerpt: Nearly half of callers to California's health insurance exchange in February and March couldn't get through and abandoned their call, state figures show. Those service woes could worsen as more people try to beat the March 31 deadline to get Obamacare coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

Health Care Exchange in Oregon Not Meeting High Hopes
Excerpt: As the federal health care overhaul was rolled out over the last few years, Oregon was invariably the eager overachiever in the first row, waving a hand to volunteer. ... Fellow Democrats controlling the Legislature went along, embracing ambitious plans to extend insurance coverage and Medicaid to low-income residents. Yet for all that, by some measures Oregon has among the most dysfunctional online insurance exchanges in the nation.

Nevada Health Link approves 60-day extension
Excerpt: Anyone who attempted to sign up for health insurance with Nevada's failed insurance exchange will have another 60 days to complete the process. The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange Board action on Thursday leaves the door open for tens if not hundreds of thousands of people to reapply after open enrollment ends March 31.

Obamacare Limits Choices Under Some Plans
Excerpt: Ben Rosenthal was treated for prostate cancer four years ago and had gallbladder surgery the year before that. A former manager at a market-research firm in Los Angeles, Rosenthal, 57, paid for his own health insurance. Last fall, when his plan was discontinued because it didn’t meet standards set by the Affordable Care Act, Rosenthal bought the best insurance coverage he could find, a top-tier “platinum” policy from Blue Shield of California that costs $792 a month. He figured it would provide access to top hospitals. Then in February he learned the plan wouldn’t cover the hospitals where he was used to being treated. (Dear Ben, It's AFFORDABLE, AFFORDABLE, AFFORDABLE! Your friend, Nancy Pelosi. PS: Hope you don't die--unless you vote Republican.)

Desperate Times for ObamaCare. By Arnold Ahlert
Excerpt: The air of desperation surrounding ObamaCare gets thicker and thicker with each passing day. And no matter how dishonest President Obama, his administration officials, Democrats and their media allies, are in their attempt to fool the public, painful truths about this disaster can no longer be obscured.

Refundable Tax Credits in ObamaCare
Excerpt: Refundable tax credits are projected to double due to subsidies in ObamaCare, says Alan Cole, an economist at the Tax Foundation. Tax credits allow taxpayers to reduce their tax liabilities. Refundable tax credits, however, allow refunds beyond the amount of taxes paid in. Basically, they can result in a transfer of funds from the government to the taxpayer. What are these refundable credits? The most well-known are the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Additional Child Tax Credit, each available only to taxpayers with incomes below a certain threshold. In 2009, the amount of refundable tax credits peaked at more than $120 billion. In 2011, the IRS paid $99.1 billion in refundable credits. That is more than the Department of Education spends each year ($71.2 billion). The EITC pays out $65 billion per year, and the Additional Child Tax Credit pays out slightly less than half of that amount -- $30 billion per year. The ObamaCare subsidies for low-income purchasers of insurance are the newest form of transfer payment. Due to these subsidies, the dollar amount of refundable credits is going to skyrocket.

Poll: Four Years After Passage, Obamacare As Unpopular as Ever. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: In spite of their now-infamous promises, the bill Democrats passed was unpopular with the American people at the time, and remains so to this day. Pew Research: (gee, if only we lived in a democracy where the people's views mattered. ~Bob)

Blog Fixed--And Lots of News

The blog is working again--I had to reinstall Google Chrome. Sorry for the problems. ~Bob

Obamacare Changes in One Infographic. By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: The announcement came after a long list of delays, 27 of them, that the White House has unilaterally made to the law without the consent of Congress. Now, the RNC has released a handy infographic to keep track of it all.

USA Today: Obamacare's Website Still Broken for Many Consumers. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: More than two months after the White House declared Healthcare.gov "fixed" -- and four months after it was rolled out in spite of failed tests -- the site is still causing "vexing" problems for an untold number of potential consumers, according to USA Today. Health insurance expert Bob Laszewski listed the waysin which the website remains under construction or buggy, but for some customers, basic functions aren't yet operating properly:

Why the White House Is Panicking. By John C. Goodman
Excerpt: All of this is lawlessness of course. The statute clearly says that the mandate is supposed to kick in this year. So why is President Obama taking the extra-constitutional step of letting employers temporarily off the hook? The reason is not hard to understand. Millions of workers are in danger of losing their jobs or their other fringe benefits (such as matches to a retirement savings plan) or being forced to work part-time. Many of them are employees of hotels, restaurants and large retail stores. And these workers just might take out their anger on Democratic candidates in next fall's election.

Must Read: Betrayal in Benghazi. By Colonel Phil Handley
Excerpt: The disgraceful abandonment of our Ambassador and those brave ex-SEALs who fought to their deaths to save others in that compound is nothing short of dereliction-of-duty. Additionally, the patently absurd cover-up scenario that was fabricated in the aftermath was an outright lie in attempt to shield the President and the Secretary of State from responsibility. ... Colonel Phil “Hands” Handley, USAF (Ret.) is credited with the highest speed air-to-air gun kill in the history of aerial combat. He flew operationally for all but 11 months of a 26-year career, in aircraft such as the F-86 Sabre, F-15 Eagle, and the C-130A Hercules. Additionally, he flew 275 combat missions during two tours in Southeast Asia in the F-4D and F-4E. His awards include 21 Air Medals, 3 Distinguished Flying Crosses, and the Silver Star.

Important: Obama soliciting new policy options for Syria from top aides as peace talks flounder
Excerpt: With U.S.-backed peace talks floundering, President Obama is soliciting new policy options for Syria from top aides, American officials said Friday, as the administration also tries to assure delivery of desperately needed humanitarian supplies. (So much for the great diplomatic triumph of Syria. See, the Syrians, Russian, al Qaeda, Iranians, and assorted Jihadist would all be cooperating nicely if Obama wasn't black. ~Bob)

Important: Senior al-Qaeda figure leaves Iran amid a series of departures by terrorist suspects
Excerpt: A senior al-Qaeda figure with close ties to the terrorist group’s current leader has left Iran, where he had lived for years after fleeing American forces in Afghanistan in 2001, according to former and current U.S. intelligence officials. (He is probably the "new, moderate Iran's peace envoy. After all, Obama's great diplomacy has made Iran moderate, and his lead-from-behind, unauthorized war in Libya has made it a safer place for the world, right? And they won't learn. Obama's foreign policy would be funny if it didn't mean that rmericans are going to die--perhaps a city full. ~Bob)

Excerpt: Just when you thought relations between the US and Afghan governments couldn't sink any lower, along comes the spokesman for Afghanistan's High Peace Council, who blames the US for insecurity in Afghanistan and praises Osama bin Laden.

Excerpt: Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula freed several of its operatives from the central prison in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a in a complex assault today that involved suicide bombers and an assault team. Nineteen AQAP operatives were among the 29 prisoners who were freed during the attack.

Radical Syrian Deletes Suicide Bombing Fatwa
Excerpt: A radical Syrian cleric who spent January on a U.S. fundraising tour has erased a 2001 fatwa endorsing suicide bombings from his website.

Nigeria's Boko Haram 'in village massacre'
Excerpt: Suspected Islamist militants have raided a Nigerian village and murdered dozens, according to witnesses. The gunmen reportedly rounded up a group of men in Izghe village and shot them, before going door-to-door and killing anyone they found.

Excerpt: The unimaginable horror of this is compounded by the world’s indifference. The few who dare to call attention to jihad attacks like this one are vilified, mocked, shunned, ridiculed, and defamed, even as such attacks multiply and the body count mounts ever higher. Right now Western governments have apparently decided that jihad attacks like this one can’t happen in their countries, and so don’t matter, and that when they take place in faraway lands such as Nigeria, they need not disturb the comforting fictions about Islam’s jihad doctrine that form the cornerstone of so much of their domestic and foreign policy.

Excerpt: Islamic supremacists don’t just want to bypass and denigrate Valentine’s Day. They want you to do so also, and if you don’t, the stones and bullets will start flying. Here again we see that morality in Islamic culture is not so much a matter of virtue freely chosen, but of people living in terror of committing a transgression that could get them killed. Contrary to the fond of imaginings of non-Muslims such as Robert P. George and Dinesh D’Souza, it is not a Republic of Virtue, but an Empire of Fear.

Christian threats force Muslim convoy to turn back in CAR exodus. Peacekeepers prevent crammed cars from leaving Bangui for fear of attack, and evidence emerges of village massacre.
Excerpt: Thousands of Muslims tried to flee the capital of the Central African Republic (CAR) on Friday, only for their mass convoy of cars and trucks to be turned back as crowds of angry Christians taunted: "We're going to kill you all." The drama unfolded as Amnesty International said it had uncovered evidence of a fresh massacre in a village where the sole surviving Muslim was an orphaned girl aged about 11, and France said it would send an extra 400 peacekeeping troops. Some cars were crammed with as many as 10 people as the convoy made its way through Bangui, the second such attempt to escape in a week, the Associated Press reported. (When you sow the wind with religious based violence, you reap the whirlwind, as it produces a reaction. And neither side makes a distinction between the guilty and the innocent. See the next article. ~Bob.)

13 bodies found in former rebel camp in Bangui
Excerpt: Thirteen decomposing corpses have been discovered in a camp housing ex-rebels in the strife-torn Central African Republic, a prosecutor said on Friday. The corpses, some mere skeletons, were found in a disused fuel tank at a camp of former fighters of the mostly Muslim Seleka rebel group whose coup a year ago sparked the country’s descent into chaos. Killings and pillaging by ex-Seleka rebels following the coup led to the formation of mainly Christians, whose attacks in recent weeks have led many minority Muslims to flee the country.

"Islamist groups planned to attack Egyptian synagogues"
Excerpt: El Badil reports that members of "Ansar al Bayt al Maqdis", one of the Sinai Islamist groups fighting in Egypt, have admitted to plotting to blow up synagogues in Cairo and Alexandria.

Excerpt: Pamela Geller is spot on: “Where are the left wing, the gay and LGBT organizations denouncing the Islamic texts that inspire such mayhem and murder of gays? Where is that fierce gay leadership condemning Muslim oppression of gays under the sharia? Where are those brave activists who rushed to condemn me when I ran an ad campaign highlighting Muslim oppression of gays under the sharia? Gay organizations in America say nothing, but loudly condemned my ad campaign highlighting Muslim oppression of gays under the sharia. Why haven’t we heard from SF City Council, the Human Rights CommissionSFHRC head Theresa Sparks, and the enemedia?

Excerpt: “As many as 500 women and girls are killed for ‘honour’ in Pakistan each year, making Pakistan one of the most dangerous countries for women,” said Dr Muazzam Nasrullah, a public health specialist teaching at Emory and West Virginia University, USA, on Friday. (The real "War on Women," which the left is silent about in the name of multi-culturalism. ~Bob)

Excerpt: A tourist bus in the Egyptian town of Taba near the Israeli border was struck by an explosion today that killed at least three people and wounded more than a dozen. The targeted bus, which was carrying tourists who had recently been at the famous St. Catherine's monastery in central Sinai, was preparing to cross into Israel.

Obama Admin Confirms Support for Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist who worked in US Embassy before his Arrest
http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/02/obama-admin-confirms-support-muslim-brotherhood-terrorist-worked-us-embassy-arrest/
Excerpt: "We can confirm that a locally employed staff member of the U.S. Embassy was detained on January 25th and that, as far as we understand, he has been held without charges since then…" "The United States does not – has not designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization. We have been very clear in Egypt that we will work with all sides and all parties to help move an inclusive process forward.

How Al Qaeda Is Winning the War on Terror. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: The debate over whether Al Qaeda is on the path to victory or defeat is also a debate over what Al Qaeda is. A vocal school of thought among some foreign experts of the left was that there was no Al Qaeda. The updated version of that thesis was embraced by Obama and some of his subordinates looking to do an end zone dance and hang up the Mission Accomplished banner by celebrating victory over the core of Al Qaeda and dismissing its affiliates, some of which number in the tens of thousands and are fighting to take over entire countries, as Obama put it, as Jayvee players in Lakers uniforms. (To be fair, Obama should know a JV player when he sees one. Say, in the mirror. ~Bob)

Good Marine Officers Avoid Bankruptcy. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: There was a day the Ten Commandants guided the way. But the tablets are under assault. Yet for Marine officers there's history, there's the clear path to success, captured in a Guide, to preclude bankruptcy - of all sorts.

Excerpt: This weekend the Associated Press posted a news item about a national survey indicating Americans are more prejudiced toward Blacks and Hispanics than they were four years ago when Obama took office. Surveyors were amazed that the election of a Black President had failed to bridge the gap between caucasians and Blacks and Hispanics. The surveyors, in an effort to find answers, turned to social scientists and academic elites. Both of these so called experts attributed the increase in prejudice to Americans just being "slow learners". Not one of these "elite" experts were willing to consider that, perhaps, the actions of this President might have been a causative factor.

In a free society the state does not administer the affairs of men. It administers justice among men who conduct their own affairs. --Walter Lippmann (Lippmann was a liberal--Fabian socialist--we have moved far under Obama. ~Bob)

Marines, Fight's On - Might You Engage? By Andy Weddington

Live Not by Lies
http://www.libertylawsite.org/2014/02/09/live-not-by-lies/
Excerpt: Being human, politicians lie. Even in the best regimes. The distinguishing feature of totalitarian regimes however, is that they are built on words that the rulers know to be false, and on somehow constraining the people to speak and act as if the lies were true. Thus the people hold up the regime by partnering in its lies. Thus, when we use language that is “politically correct” – when we speak words acceptable to the regime even if unfaithful to reality – or when we don’t call out politicians who lie to our faces, we take part in degrading America.

What shall we call the Country Formerly Known as Britain? By Charles Moore
http://www.spectator.co.uk/columnists/the-spectators-notes/9137191/charles-moore-are-we-to-be-nameless/
Excerpt: Last week, David Cameron said that we have ‘seven months to save the most extraordinary country in history’. He meant the United Kingdom. It was a powerful speech, part of a welcome and overdue campaign to make us all think about what is at stake in the referendum on Scottish independence. It seems strange to argue that the loss of less than 10 per cent of the population would bring this country to an end, and yet I do really suspect it might be so. Mr Cameron did not touch on the question of what the nation, minus Scotland, might be called, perhaps because he does not know and is fearful of making plans for such an eventuality.

Britain has many major problems - racism isn't one of them. It has less prejudice than the countries where I’ve lived before – and more people taking offence. By Clarissa Tan
http://www.spectator.co.uk/features/9135981/how-racist-is-britain/
Excerpt: I am a banana. In Singapore, where I used to live, this needs no explanation — it means I’m yellow on the outside but white on the inside, someone who looks ethnically Chinese but whose way of thinking is ‘western’. There are bananas all over Asia, and I daresay the world. We are better versed in Shakespeare than Confucius, our Mandarin is appalling, and we often have pretentious Anglo or American accents.

http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/steerpike/2014/02/delingpole-quites-telegraph-ahead-of-uk-launch-of-brietbart-com/
Excerpt: Set up by the late, but always missed, troublemaker Andrew Breitbart, the American conservative website is set to launch over here imminently. It’s a high traffic hire. Along with Buzzfeed UK, it seems our American cousins have accepted that London really is the capital of the world.

Are you now or have you ever been a climate-change skeptic? By Brendan O'Neill
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/brendanoneill2/100259728/are-you-now-or-have-you-ever-been-a-climate-change-sceptic/
Excerpt: Imagine if there were a campaign to sack every senior government adviser who didn’t believe in God. There’d be outrage, and rightly so. Purging politicos from power on the basis of their private beliefs, on the grounds of what lurks in their conscience, would be seen as an intolerable assault on freedom of thought. Well, the Green Party is proposing just such an assault on senior government advisers – not on the basis of whether they believe in God but on the basis of whether they accept the climate-change consensus. (The left loves every kind of diversity, except the one that really matters--diversity of thought. ~Bob)

An Executive Unbound: The Obama Administration’s Unilateral Actions
Excerpt: In our constitutional system, Congress is charged with enacting the law, and the Executive is charged with enforcing it. The individual liberties of all Americans are at stake when one branch usurps the role of another. As the Framers knew well, the “accumulation of all powers … in the same hands” is the “very definition of tyranny.” (As we well know, the II Amendment was made law by our founding fathers, thereby confirming our God-given, inalienable right that individuals would have the ability and final recourse of defending themselves against a tyrannical government. --MM)
UAW Crushed In Vote Attempting To Unionize At VW Plant In Tennessee, Despite Obama Intercessionhttp://patriotupdate.com/2014/02/uaw-crushed-vote-attempting-unionize-vw-plant-tennessee-despite-obama-intercession/
Excerpt: Wasn’t it possible that workers who turned down unions simply looked at what Wagner Act unionism had done, say, to Detroit, and decided for themselves that this wasn't what they wanted to happen to their company? " (Guess the majority still doesn't buy into the whole Communist/Marxist/union thingy. At least not in Tennessee. --MM)

Obama's clever campaign to constrict the flow of criticism. By Andrew Malcolm
http://license.icopyright.net/user/viewFreeUse.act?fuid=MTc4NzQyNjU
Excerpt: Among the many costs of the Barack Obama presidency is an intentional corrosion for its own political gain of public faith in so many American institutions, among them Congress, the Supreme Court and the media. If numerous sectors of society are feuding or distrustful of each other, then a well-controlled central authority like a chief executive can more easily rule the pieces. It's classic Chicago politics, the way the mayor there controls the city's feuding neighborhood fiefdoms of Democrat pols and workers. (Another incisive article, perfectly zeroed in on the strategy and tactics so effectively used by Mr. Obama et al. Moving to intimidate media outlets with a nationwide "study" of newsroom values, etc, is absolutely beautiful practice of the principles used in so many dictatorships. And a very independent body, Reporters Without Borders, fully credits the sharp drop in press freedom in this country. Can this awaken even classic Liberal thinkers to the downsides of our current government? --Del)

'And they were naked – and not ashamed': Church allows nude worship
Excerpt: A church in the US state of Virginia has taken the bizarre decision to allow its congregation to attend services in the nude. Pastor Allen Parker, the leader of White Tail Chapel in the town of Southampton, said he came to the decision to allow naked worship after concluding the clothing requirements of other churches were overly 'pretentious', and decided his own flock should be free to forgo such materialism if they desire.

Gabe Sonnier Was An Elementary School's Janitor For 27 Years. Now He's The Principal
Excerpt: Joseph "Gabe" Sonnier used to clean up after everyone at Port Barre Elementary in Port Barre, La. Now, the former janitor is the principal at that school. The journey to his promotion began in 1985 when Port Barre's then-principal pulled Sonnier aside, CBS Evening News reported.

Fitch Piles On As Third Credit Rating Agency To Sink Puerto Rico To 'Junk' Bond Status
Excerpt: The last of three major U.S. credit rating agencies downgraded Puerto Rico's debt by two notches to "junk" status on Tuesday. (doesn't say what party controls Puerto Rico. Hummm. ~Bob)

Hoffman’s selfish death leaves children behind to suffer
Excerpt: But Hoffman’s death was nothing of the kind, not sad, certainly not tragic. It was just the death of a selfish man who decided that mainlining heroin for the zubby buzz was more important than his three young children, ages 10, 7 and 5; more important than his work as a superb actor; and in the end, even more important than his life. He didn’t care; he just wanted to get high. (Agree with this. I lean towards legalization and government sales, because, like the War on Poverty, government has screwed up and lost the war on Drug and we all pay for the crime to support drug habits. But if I could push a button and kill every drug dealer--murderers all in my view--we wouldn't have a drug problem, just a huge offal disposal problem. ~Bob)

Mob of teens film themselves attacking and robbing disabled vet while shouting 'Knock that white boy out!'
Excerpt: Three teenagers accused of beating and robbing a disabled Army veteran on an Ohio bus while shouting racial slurs have been arrested. Police apprehended Kenneth Matthews, Ronald Reid Williams and an unnamed 16-year-old girl who allegedly filmed last Friday's daytime attack on her cellphone, as they tried to flee. The trio were among up to eight teenagers who allegedly mobbed Matthew Robinson on the RTA Healthline in Cleveland. (While this hurts the victim, it also hurts decent black folks who will suffer from the stereotype of black violence. ~Bob)

Obama Administration Opens Banks to Marijuana Businesses
Excerpt: The Obama administration on Friday issued guidelines that potentially open banks to marijuana businesses. Banks are now free to provide services to marijuana-related businesses in states like Colorado and Washington, where sales of the drug are permitted. Regulators stressed that the move will enable financial intuitions to better report possible criminal activity. (Now we know why they gave free guns to drug cartels and gave the border patrol staff bean bags. Wonder what the fed cut of the dealing is? Back in the Eliott Ness days, this used to be called “money laundering” and be illegal. Chicago rules. --Barb)

Ben Carson, family and friends target of IRS harassment for criticizing Obama
Excerpt… “Finally, after a few months, they went away. But they’ve come after my family, they’ve come after my friends, they’ve come after associates," he added. Until now, Newsmax said, Dr. Carson has shied away from tying the IRS actions to his criticism of Obama, but now he says Americans live "in a Gestapo age" even though they may not realize it. (Article adds that “He also said a charitable organization that aids inmates’ children was informed last year, for the first time in recent years, that they would no longer be receiving a $1 million annual grant from the Justice Department.” --Barb. It's the Chicago way. ~Bob)

American Cancer. By D.L. Hammack
Excerpt: An imperial presidency? "Actions that would normally be seen in a banana republic" as Dr. Charles Krauthammer put it in a recent Fox News segment? Call it what you will, but regardless of the moniker we give it, know this: The lawless behavior of our president and his administration is nothing less than a cancer buried deep in the belly of America; a cancer that metastasizes daily consuming the good cells that were once the foundation of this nation.

Who gets rich off of blocking the Keystone XL pipeline? By Timothy P. Carney
Excerpt: Democrats who oppose the Keystone XL pipeline have thousands of dollars invested in direct competitors to the company looking to build the pipeline, public records show. ...
According to his personal financial disclosure forms, [Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va.] has between $15,000 and $50,000 invested in Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, according to his most recent financial disclosure. Kinder Morgan is looking to build a pipeline that would directly compete with Keystone.

Obama Kicking a Door: Racist
Excerpt: Anything critical of Obama is racist anymore. Check it out: A student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada was forced to issue a formal apology for emailing a picture of President Obama kicking open a door–all because some students thought the image was somehow racist. The image was actually an edited .gif, and was shown by Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” last fall. (When everything is racist, nothing is racist. This hurts black folks most of all, as it disguises real racism which still exists and makes folks not believe in it. ~Bob)

'Zero Tolerance' Strikes Again. From The Patriot Post
So-called "zero tolerance" policies are all the rage in our nation's public schools, as educators try to come up with some way to deal with cultural degradation that they themselves play a large part in creating. The policy usually ends up making administrators look stupid, however, as was the case when a Chicago sixth-grader was recently interrogated and suspended for voluntarily turning in to security guards a toy gun he accidentally still had in his jacket pocket. While Barack Obama's city suffers a perpetual blood bath from real (and, we might add, often illegal) guns in the hands of gangbangers, the school has ensured that at least one "dangerous criminal" is off the streets.

Hollywood Double Standards. From The Patriot Post
One of the great leftist causes of the last few decades has been the minimum wage. We're told that the only way for the economy to take off is for businesses to be forced to pay more for labor. Yet in at least one case, it's a "do what I say, not what I do" proposition. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Hollywood pays at or below the minimum wage more than twice as often as the national workforce in general, and the median wage for hourly workers in Hollywood is $2.74 per hour less than the national average. Hypocrisy, thy name is Hollywood.

Gun control: Federal court guts California’s concealed-carry rules. By Josh Richman
Excerpt: People seeking permits to carry concealed weapons don’t have to prove “good cause” beyond truthfully saying they want to be able to defend themselves, a divided federal appeals court ruled Thursday. (Very, very interesting. Reading some of the requirements CA cities have in place for carry permits was really instructional, they are super restrictive. Hopefully it'll go to the Supremes and be upheld. --Del)

Economic Gains from Eliminating Travel Visas
Excerpt: By eliminating travel visas, the United States could see an increase of 45 million to 67 million tourists each year, which adds up to somewhere between $90 billion and $123 billion in visitor spending. ... Tourism produces an economic impact similar to exports. Just as export restrictions hurt the economy, visa policies that restrict travel to the United States prevent important economic activity and wealth maximization. 9but for security, you'd have to keep them for some countries. That the Left would never permit, because "all cultures are equally valid," even those who hang gays, mutilate little girls, murder people who believe differently and oppress women. ~Bob)

The Rise of Medical Identity Theft. By Michael Ollove
Excerpt: If modern technology has ushered in a plague of identity theft, one particular strain of the disease has emerged as most virulent: medical identity theft. Last month the Identity Theft Resource Center produced a survey showing that breaches of medical records involving personal information accounted for 43 percent of all records breaches involving personal information reported in the United States in 2013.

Primer: Earned Income Tax Credit and the Minimum Wage. By Ben Gitis
Excerpt: Would a hike in the minimum wage help those in poverty? This remains highly contested, especially in academia. Several argue that increasing the minimum wage would do little to combat poverty and that further improving the earned income tax credit (EITC) would be much more effective. The EITC better targets families in poverty and incentivizes people to work, the key to moving out of poverty. Those without jobs are four times more likely to be in poverty than those who are employed.

Tortured in Vietnam’s worst prison, 11 US soldiers were unbreakable. By Maureen Callahan
Excerpt: On September 9, 1965, Navy Cmdr. James Bond Stockdale was flying his A-4 Skyhawk on a mission over North Vietnam, just days after the Gulf of Tonkin incident, when his plane took fire and hurtled down. Forced to eject with seconds to spare, he landed with severe injuries: his left leg bent sideways by 60 degrees and his kneecap smashed; his left shoulder dislocated, rendering his arm useless; his back, he thought, likely was broken. Stockdale was quickly discovered by villagers, who beat him and dragged him through the streets until he was delivered to his ultimate destination: the Hoa Lo prison, or, as it was derisively known among the American POWs held there, the Hanoi Hilton. (The title is inaccurate, everybody broke at some point, skillful prolonged torture will break anyone eventually. But they all recovered and always fought back, they never caved in to the dominance of their captors. How they could do that is almost beyond understanding. They were the best ever, and should be a source of enormous pride to all Americans. (Not to mention total contempt for their torturers, who have never paid any price for their barbarous acts. Interesting the the world worries about men living in comparative luxury in Gitmo, but never paid any real attention to what the communists did to our men during the war.) --Del)

Worth Reading: The End of Government. By Robert J. Samuelson
Excerpt: The cause is no mystery. An aging population and higher health spending automatically increase budget outlays, which induce the president and Congress to curb spending on almost everything else, from defense to food stamps. Over the next decade, all the government’s projected program growth stems from Social Security and health care, including the Affordable Care Act.

U.S. Army Builds Replica City to Practice Invasion
Excerpt: The 300 acre “town” includes a five story embassy, a bank, a school, an underground subway and train station, a mosque, a football stadium, and a helicopter landing zone…the realistic subway station comes complete with subway (cars) and the train station has real train (cars). The subway (cars) even carry the same logo as the (cars) in Washington DC… All of the streets and businesses sport signage written in English and the town is American in every aspect. What is causing skepticism are the somewhat muddled justifications offered up by the Army for such a “city. (This along with the DHS purchase of millions of rounds of hollow point ammunition and the firing of top military personnel should give one pause at the very least. --JB. Nick Diamos: Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity. ~Bob)

excerpt: Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Black people attack older guy. His neck is broke. And, oh yeah, its been happening in Stamford, Connectictut for a while. Police: Stamford High School employee Vicor Eng brutally assaulted by 4 teens, 1 arrested – News 12 Connecticut.

Another Knockout Game. This one on video in Cambridge. By Colin Flaherty

Excerpt: If you've been keeping up with Obama's attention grabbing executive order to raise the minimum wage you know that only 4% of all jobs are paid at minimum wage. You should also know that every economic study done over the past 70 years shows that raising the minimum wage more than a few percent always results in fewer minimum jobs available. As we've mentioned here before, minimum wage jobs are meant for young folks; it has always been intended for kids without works skills. No rocket science required here…..it simply teaches a kid how to show up for work on time, work as a team, and learn a few basic skills.

National Public Radio (@NPRNews) Misrepresents Facts to Fan Racial Tension By Erick Erickson
Excerpt: On February 6, 2014, NPR listeners heard this report about the voting rights act. A portion of the story involves Macon, GA, where I live. NPR did its listeners a great disservice in how it presented the story. But don’t believe partisan conservative me. An attorney for the local Democratic Party is calling foul too. As Dave Oedel, the local Democratic Party attorney (who, being that Macon is Macon and it is a small world, is also my neighbor and constitutional law professor from law school), points out a number of facts that directly contradict the premise of the NPR story. (NPR is liberal. Facts don't matter, only intentions and feeling good about them. ~Bob)

Do you know more about science and technology than the average American?
13 for 13. ~Bob. The sad things is that with a quiz that easy, only 7% of adults in this country can get them all right. Science is not taught anywhere nearly as well as it should be. And scientific reasoning and the cultivation of objectivity are hardly even taught to science majors. Nor is the proper use of Statistics. And we spend more per pupil in public education than most other Western countries. What a lousy situation. --Del

Judge Jeannine Pirro Statement
To All: A friend sent this video that is a recent 20 minute statement by Judge Jeanine Pirro. It is a brilliant analysis of the latest actions of an over reaching President. It absolutely worth watching. Bob

Media Ignores Chick-fil-A's Christian Charity in Ice Storm
Excerpt: Audrey Pitt, manager of the Chick-fil-A described the conditions: “Our store is about a mile and a half from the interstate and it took me two hours to get there. It was a parking lot as far as I could see. At one point there were more people walking than driving.” Meadows and his employees fired up the kitchen and began preparing chicken sandwiches as fast as they could. They prepared several hundred sandwiches and then Meadows and his staff headed out and began distributing the hot meals to the stranded motorists on both sides of Highway 280. (OK, here are some very Christian Americans acting out the highest principles of Christianity and American generosity to the needy, and somehow, it never made the front page of the NYTimes. Or any page. Or NBC/CBS/ABS/ et al. Just got totally lost in all the many stories of the stranded motorists in the horrible weather. But you might have thought it was newsworthy, wouldn't you? Somehow, all those editors and reporters and TV talking heads just couldn't find time or space for it. That's our media, thoughtful, conscientious, always seeking the truth, utterly unbiased..... Sure. Right. And maybe you want to buy this nice bridge I have available up in New York. --Del)
