Vietnamese refugees

Vietnamese refugees reunite with rescuers after decades of searching
Excerpt: After the fall of Saigon in 1975, more than a million desperate people fled Vietnam. Many of the refugees who escaped in small boats came to be called the boat people. Vietnamese immigrant Lauren Vuong was one of those people. Now a successful attorney, she's accomplished a lot in the four decades since then but until recently, one goal remained elusive: finding and thanking the men who rescued her at sea. (The stories of those who, at the serious risk of their lives, fled oppression for the chance at freedom, and who have come to join with us, to be Americans and contribute to the society and the nation. Those Americans born here who don't appreciate who we are and what we have should talk to those who have suffered, sacrificed, struggled to come here and know the worth of freedom. As imperfect as we are.... we are still good and need to celebrate that goodness. --Del. The refugees Democrats didn't want. ~Bob)
