Must Read: The Worldview that Makes the Underclass. By Anthony Daniels. from Imprimis.
Excerpt: Heroin addiction has been presented by officialdom as a bona fide disease that strikes people like, shall we say, rheumatoid arthritis. In the United States, the National Institute on Drug Abuse defines addiction quite baldly as a chronic relapsing brain disease—and nothing else. I hesitate to say it, but this seems to me straightforwardly a lie, told to willing dupes in order to raise funds from the federal government. Be that as it may, the impression has been assiduously created and peddled among the addicts that they are the helpless victims of something that is beyond their own control, which means that they need the technical assistance of what amounts to a substantial bureaucratic apparatus in order to overcome it. ... Dishonest passivity and dependence combined with harmful activity becomes a pattern of life, and not just among drug addicts. ... By a mixture of ideology and fiscal and social policies, the family has been systematically fractured and destroyed in England, at least in the lowest part of the society that, unfortunately, needs family solidarity the most. (This is about the attitudes of the dependent class in the UK, but similar here. Hard to read this and think that not just the US, but all of western civilization isn't going to collapse. You can subscribe to Imprimis for free at Hillsdale.edu. Worth doing. ~Bob

Thirteen Things Obama Cannot Change by Executive Order. By Robert A. Hall

Blog Reader's comment on the "So Called" Tea Party
I say so-called tea party because the media just can't seem to make distinction between the tens of thousands of people concerned about Obamacare, the ballooning debt, and the growth of government who turned out for rallies in 2009 and 2010 and the groups such as Freedom Works and Tea Party Patriots who, in my opinion, hijacked the movement to make money, enjoy their 15 minutes of fame, or settle old political scores (cf. Dick Armey). Incidentally, I don't put a lot weight on Heritage Foundation scores anymore, since they are now part of the suicidal wing of the Republican Party. --Chuck. (I've had similar thoughts about the Tea Party. It's evolved from spontaneous demonstrations to several groups with "leaders" jockeying for money, power, prestige and perks. The human condition, alas. ~Bob)

Bumper Stickers
Recently saw these bumper stickers in liberal Madison, WI. On a pickup: "Douche." (With the "O" replaced by the Obama symbol. On a semi: "When guns are outlawed, I'll be an outlaw."

War! What Is It Good For?: Conflict and the Progress of Civilization from Primates to Robots. By Ian Morris
I read a review of this in The Week news magazine, and it sounded interesting. Whether I will have time to get to it is another matter. ~Bob. Excerpt: This erudite yet compulsively readable history of war (and actually much more) by archaeologist-historian Morris (Why the West Rules—For Now, 2010) takes the provocative position that, over time, the value of war, despite its horrors, has been to make humanity both safer and richer. He covers a vast span, from primitive (Morris enlists anthropological studies of chimpanzees and early “protohumans” to explain aggression) and ancient civilizations to the “American Empire.” War’s impact in terms of lives lost (as a percentage of national population) has lessened, Morris demonstrates, and its long-term effects have been, as he puts it, “productive.“ The thesis is elegantly advanced (there is something to marvel over or even chuckle about on almost every page). Ian Morris teaches classics, history, and archaeology at Stanford University. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, in 1960, he now lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California. 512 pages.

Did the Polish Foreign Minister Really Say Alliance with the U.S. ‘Isn’t Worth Anything’?
Excerpt: A Polish magazine says it has obtained recordings of a conversation in which Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski says the country’s strong alliance with the U.S. “isn’t worth anything” and is “even harmful because it creates a false sense of security.” (Probably correct. WWII started when the allied German Nazis and the Russian Communists divided Poland between them. Britain and France went to the aide of Poland, but did not have the power to save it from Nazi tyranny in 1939, or Communist tyranny in 1945. It wasn't free until the Poles did it themselves. We do not have the military power to prevent Russia's Neo-Commie, Putin, from taking Poland if he decides to. ~Bob)

Facebook Video Leads To Arrest In Gloucester County Mobile Home Arson
Not cut out for a life of crime. ~Bob Excerpt: A video posted on Facebook has led to the arrest of two brothers on charges of setting fire to a National Park, New Jersey mobile home early Saturday morning that destroyed the unoccupied residence. The burning trailer at 7 Riverview Drive in Gloucester County was discovered just before 1 a.m. by a Westville/National Park police officer on patrol.

Bombshell: We Know The Whereabouts of Lost IRS Emails
http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/06/bombshell-know-whereabouts-lost-irs-emails/
Excerpt: Without the emails their is no accountability, despite the fact that the President Obama has repeatedly claimed that transparency and the rule of law would be touchstones of his Presidency. “Starting today every agency and department should know that this administration stands on the side not of those who seek to withhold information, but those who seek to make it known,” said President Obama at a press conference on the day he took office in January of 2009. I'll believe it when I read them. If the e-mails contain what I believe they do, the chance of Obama ordering their release is less than my chance of being elected Pope. Publication of this means if they are there, steps were taken before you read this. ~Bob)

White House Lawyer Summoned to Testify on Lois Lerner’s Missing Emails. By Philip Wegmann
Excerpt: Seeking more information about Lois Lerner’s lost emails, the House Oversight Committee chairman has asked White House counsel Jennifer O’Connor to testify on Tuesday.
Issa believes that O’Connor may have known about the missing emails long before lawmakers.

Important: Paul Ryan Confronts IRS Commissioner: ‘I Don’t Believe You.’ By Philip Wegmann
Video. Makes two of us. I've come to believe that they contain impeachable material that even the media, thus Democrats, couldn't ignore. And I also believe that we will never see them--the administration will do anything to prevent that. But a LOT of people at the IRS must know the truth. Only takes one to break. Unfortunately, the law enforcement mechanism of the government is under Eric Withholder, who will use that power to aid the cover up. ~Bob

IRS Official Whose Emails Were "Lost" Visited White House More Than 30 Times. By Katie Pavlich
Excerpt: Last night on The Kelly File Chief Counsel at the American Center for Law and Justice Jay Sekulo revealed that the former chief of staff to former IRS Commissioner Steven Miller, Nikole Flax, visited the White House 35 times after talking with former head of tax exempt groups Lois Lerner about working to criminally prosecute conservative tea party groups for "lying" about political activity.

IRS Emails Backed Up by Outside Email Archiving Company
http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/06/outside-email-archiving-company-backed-irs-emails/
Excerpt: The IRS uses as an email archiving company to back up its emails.
That's right, Sonasoft, whose slogan is "email archiving done right" touts the IRS as a customer. ... In fact, according to Sonasoft, "When used in conjunction with Sonasoft's email archiving software, continuous email archiving can be achieved without the loss of emails even after the Primary Exchange Server switches over to the Standby Exchange Server." (Want to bet it turns out that Sonasoft had an unfortunate and unprecedented accident wth these emails? ~Bob)

IRS Commissioner Says Emails Aren't Official Records, IRS Handbook Disagrees. By Guy Benson
Excerpt: That crash happened to occur ten days after Republicans in Congress first started asking questions about the targeting of conservative groups. IRS officials repeatedly denied that any such targeting was taking place, which wasn't true. ... Commissioner Koskinen attempted to defuse this point by asserting that not all IRS emails are technically official records that are subject to retention guidelines. ... Ed Morrissey pointed to plenty of precedent that suggests otherwise, before unearthing this gem from…the IRS' own manual: Email messages are official documents and should reflect this perspective. (Lie and delay, delay and lie, then accuse hose seeking the truth of "playing politics." The Obama doctrine. ~Bob)

Chevron Dims the Lights on Green Power. By Ben Elgin
Excerpt: Yet Chevron recently has retreated from key efforts to produce clean energy. This includes the renewable power group, which invested in or built utility-scale solar and geothermal projects with margins of 15 percent to 20 percent or more, according to a dozen people who worked on the projects. (The iron laws of economics are unforgiving and cannot be repealed by Executive Order. A company has as strong an obligation to maximize profits for shareholders [which usually includes the retirement funds and IRAs for a lot of little folks] as a lawyer does to give a client the best defense. Companies who don't see stock prices slide as investors move to companies that do. ~Bob)

Presbyterians Vote to Divest Holdings to Pressure Israel. By Laurie Goodstein
Excerpt: The vote, by a count of 310 to 303, was watched closely in Washington and Jerusalem and by Palestinians as a sign of momentum for a movement to pressure Israel to stop building settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and to end the occupation, with a campaign known as B.D.S., for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions. (Investing in countries that oppress women, deny freedom of speech or religion, stone teen rape victims to death, jail or execute gays, turn a blind eye to slavery and honor killings, and practice FGM on young girls is still fine. ~Bob)

VIDEO: Britain's Pat Condell is Back with "The Anti-Israel Movement Campaign Explained." (6:16)
Excerpt: Pat Condell once again pulls no punches and declares the truth in the way that only he can. Well done, Pat!

The Myriad Contradictions of Barack H. Obama. By Derrick Wilburn
Excerpt: Of course, all lies are not created equal. In the case of our current president, the list and extent of untruths told the America people is extraordinary even by political standards. These aren’t just “little white lies”; he’s told full-on whoppers directly into cameras.

Worth Reading: Stopping a lawless president. By George F. Will
Excerpt: What philosopher Harvey Mansfield calls “taming the prince” — making executive power compatible with democracy’s abhorrence of arbitrary power — has been a perennial problem of modern politics. It is now more urgent in the United States than at any time since the Founders, having rebelled against George III’s unfettered exercise of “royal prerogative,” stipulated that presidents “shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” Serious as are the policy disagreements roiling Washington, none is as important as the structural distortion threatening constitutional equilibrium.

Too True: 20 Reasons You Wouldn't Want To Live In An America Controlled By Liberals Like Obama. By John Hawkins
Excerpt: It's shocking that there are so many Americans who don't care about the Constitution, the rule of law, or even what happens to the country just as long as someone they agree with ideologically is in charge. In fact, the only time liberals seem to get really upset these days is if someone criticizes Barack Obama or tries to put ANY KIND of restraint on his power. Want to know how America would look if liberals like Barack Obama had complete control of the country?

VA: 65 percent of senior executives got bonuses
excerpt: About 65 percent of senior executives at the Veterans Affairs Department got performance bonuses last year despite widespread treatment delays and preventable deaths at VA hospitals and clinics, the agency said Friday. More than 300 VA executives were paid a total of $2.7 million in bonuses last year, said Gina Farrisee, assistant VA secretary for human resources and administration. That amount is down from about $3.4 million in bonuses paid in 2012, Farrisee said. (I agree with the comment towards the end. When 2/3 of your execs are getting sizeable bonuses on top of very substantial salaries and benefits, maybe you're making it too easy. --Del. They are government employees, Del, thus a Democrat constituency and have to be rewarded as such. Performance has nothing to do with it. Nothing new here, just the usual vote buying with tax dollars. ~Bob)

Six Californias: A Venture Capitalist's Petition to Split California into Six States. By Harriet Ryan
Excerpt: Advocates for Six Californias, a plan to split the Golden State into a half dozen separate states, are holding a petition drive this weekend to get their plan on the ballot in 2016. The idea is the brainchild of Timothy Draper, a venture capitalist from Menlo Park – or as he hopes to some day call it, the state of Silicon Valley. Draper has sunk $2 million into signature gathering for the proposal. He maintains it will break bureaucratic deadlock in Sacramento (proposed state of North California) and attract more business.

FUNNY VIDEO: James Delingpole of Breitbart London Comes Out Fighting, Takes on 'The Most Annoying Woman on the Planet': UBER-TROLL (Yasmin Alibhai-Brown)
Excerpt: Yesterday, cultural commentator Yasmin Alibhai-Brown went off the rails, claiming racism, sexism, and just about anything else she could get her hands on to attack Michael Fabricant MP for his flippant tweet which said that if he had to debate her, he might want to "punch her in the throat". Fabricant's tweet was obviously in jest, and was no different from when Labour MP Harriet Harman said she wondered how journalist Quentin Letts was not "clobbered" by her colleague. But nonetheless the left-liberal outrage-machine swung into motion.

Obama Isn't an Introvert, He's a Narcissist. By Daniel Greenfield
http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/dgreenfield/obama-isnt-an-introvert-hes-a-narcissist/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=obama-isnt-an-introvert-hes-a-narcissist
Excerpt: Obama runs a permanent campaign. He is not interested in sitting in a room and reading books. Like a lot of Ivy Leaguers he’s good at faking intellectualism, at having read all the right books at the right time, or at least gotten summaries of them, so he can claim to be a thinker. But Rosa is right. Obama doesn’t like people. He likes being admired by people. He loves the attention, but he’s paranoid about the terms on which he gets it. That undertone of irritation comes into his voice when he’s challenged or question or even asked for something. Then he becomes surly.

Police: Robbery suspect loses 'bet' that victim doesn't have a gun
Excerpt: The man began to walk away, when Officer Colendula Green said, "At that time the complainant advised he didn't. As the unknown male proceeded to turn around he turned back towards the complainant advising the complainant "I bet you don't have one of these", pointing a gun in his direction. At that point the complainant pulled out his weapon and began firing shots." The shooting victim left and was later picked up by ambulance at the Pines apartments.

Excerpt: During all those interviews Hillary has given us real insights into the plight of living in the world of politics. Hillary says that, back in 2000 she and Bill were $12 million in debt and barely able to scrape together the $2 million dollar down payments on two mansions while funding daughter Chelsea's college tuition. Most of that $12 million of debt was to settle lawsuits with Clinton bimbo's Paula and Jennifer and to pay his law team who managed to keep him out of prison for lying to a federal grand jury. Hillary praised Bill for working very hard on his speaking tour. She said Bill talked himself hoarse while making $200,000 dollars per speech he gave for the next four years. Thankfully Bill was able to rope in $100 million dollars in those four years....after all there was a lot to talk about; how he single handedly reformed welfare, created the internet boom, supervised Al Gore while he was inventing the internet. Bill also explained away Monica Lewinski and Mogadishu and why he didn't attack that Osama Bin Laden terrorist camp. (And yet 42% of Americans say Bill Clinton, who lied under oath and had sex with an employee in the oval office, is the most admired recent president. He was also accused of rape. [Feminists used to say that having sex with a subordinate was the equivalent of rape They also said that women don't lie about rape. We haven't heard these claims since Clinton.] And yet they wonder why American is going down. ~Bob)

With Pictures: Moment thug tried to rob a convenience store... only to learn the hard way that owner was Special Forces vet
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2664203/Caught-camera-Moment-thug-tried-rob-convenience-store-learn-hard-way-owner-Special-Forces-veteran.html
Excerpt: A camera trained on the entrance to Axis Food Mart captured the business owner toppling his much younger opponent to the ground with a couple of swift kicks and punches after the suspect attacked him inside the store. ... What the unwelcome guest could not have known when he entered Mdanat’s store at around 1.30am on April 26 with the intent to make a quick buck is that the middle-aged business owner had been trained in a U.S. Army Special Forces unit.

Religion of Peace News

Obama repeats his Iraq mistake in Afghanistan. By Joseph Lieberman And Vance Serchuk
Excerpt: Joseph Lieberman, a former (Liberal Democrat) senator from Connecticut, is senior counsel at the law firm Kasowitz, Benson, Torres and Friedman. Vance Serchuk is an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security: As the Obama administration grapples with how to respond to the terrorist takeover of northern Iraq, one consequence of the crisis should be clear: There is an urgent need to reassess the White House’s recently announced plans for Afghanistan — specifically, its pledge that all U.S. troops will be withdrawn by the end of 2016, other than a small contingent attached to our embassy in Kabul.

Excerpt: While Leftists and Liberals are busy calling Islam-critics Nazis and comparing our activism against an Islamic takeover with Germany in the 1930s, the real Nazis are busy hunting Jews.

Excerpt: Here is a Muslim cleric calling for attacks on Americans who are going about their business in tourist resorts, universities, coffee shops, restaurants, airplanes, ships, shops, and companies. Where did he get the idea that Islam would possibly sanction such a thing? As a Muslim cleric, how did he miss the Religion of Peace’s messages of peace? Will mainstream analysts ever bother to explain the huge gulf between their explanation of Islam and its reality?

Al Qaeda Recruits Gave "Gifts" of Little Girls to Terrorists. By Daniel Greenfield
http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/dgreenfield/al-qaeda-recruits-gave-little-girls-as-gifts-to-terrorists/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=al-qaeda-recruits-gave-little-girls-as-gifts-to-terrorists
Excerpt: '“Seven cases of forced marriage involving girls under 13 have been verified,” Unicef said. In addition to that, “two girls were given as a gift” to members of the network by their brothers who had just joined the organisation. Most of the girls married off to Al Qaeda fighters were abandoned by their husbands when the army retook the area in June 2012, the report said. Some of them had given birth, the report added.' And since we’re talking about Jihadists, it wasn’t just girls.
