Comments on “A National Conversation on Race” on American Thinker
You have to log in. Free registration. Some very good comments. Excerpt: “I must confess that in my sixty years of being a Negro in my country I have never, including during the dark days of the Jimmy Crow South in my home state of Louisiana, seen my nation as divided as it is at present. Words cannot describe the utter disappointment I have with the deep seated hatred and yes downright bigotry from some of my fellow Negroes. Some have truly become what they claimed to have disdained during those years. Those people who lived and died during those times could never, emphasis on the word never imagine that their efforts would lead to what is going on right now. Years ago, I believe in the 70's I remember there was brother elected into a political office in the state of Mississippi, one of the first Negroes elected to anything in that state, declared "We won't do to them what they did to us, but I guarantee you they won't do it again!" I don't remember his name, but his sentiment was the same as Fredrick Douglass's "Appeal to Congress for Impartial Suffrage" before the writing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Years of race/hustling/grievance based politics and posturing have led us all down an ugly path filled with nothing but destruction. As an American, an American Military Veteran, from a long line of American Military Veterans, please do not make me choose between my skin tone and my nation, you won't like my answer if you are a so-called progressive.”

Funny how diversity officers in the private and public sector are always black.

Today’s Bumper Sticker from Chicago: “Lord Save Us From ObamaCare.”

AGREE: Google: we hate the nasty little 'compose' window on Gmail. Fix it or we'll move. By William Foxton
Excerpt: All the biggest technology companies have products that millions of people use, that millions of people like – and then they suddenly go and change them for no reason. The latest crime has been committed by Google. They've changed the way you write emails on Gmail – and, as of this week, the new format is the default option for all accounts.

Excerpt: The Affordable Care Act may encourage nearly one million low-income workers to leave their jobs and and the nation’s welfare rolls, according to a working paper distributed by the non-partisan National Bureau of Economic Research. (The plan is working. ~Bob)

Excerpt: Egypt’s military-backed leader declared a state of emergency Wednesday after at least 525 people were killed in bloody clashes between security forces and supporters of ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi. (Ah, the “Arab Spring,” beloved by the media and Progressives everywhere, rolls on, as members of the “Religion of Peace” slaughter each other. So this is how the Egyptian Military “restores democracy” in John Kerry’s words. Check out the police SUV, apparently with cops inside, being pushed off a bridge. ~Bob.)

Don't know much about geography. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: The president's geographical illiteracy is a symptom of the nation's growing ignorance of once-essential subjects like geography and history. The former is often not taught any more as a required subject in our schools and colleges. The latter has often been redefined as race, class and gender oppression to score melodramatic points in the present rather than to learn from the tragedy of the past.
The hazards of bathing in Neukölln. By Andrew Harrod
Excerpt: An aggressive response from heavily-armed police to an Arab family at a Berlin swimming pool has provided yet another vignette of the difficulties Western societies face coping with Muslim immigrants’ dramatically different mores. The incident provides a disturbing glimpse into the parallel societies of some Islamic communities in Europe, which find true integration into their adopted homelands incompatible with Muslim piety.

EPA may have tried to evade Freedom of Information request, judge says
Excerpt: A federal judge said Wednesday that the Environmental Protection Agency may have tried to evade a Freedom of Information Act request and added that “numerous inconsistencies” in the agency’s court filings “undermine confidence in their truthfulness.” (The “most transparent administration in history” marches on. ~Bob.)

Obama’s furlough apocalypse fails to materialize
Excerpt: Despite Obama administration warnings that the sequester would force thousands of government workers into mandatory unpaid leave for weeks on end, as the fiscal year winds down nearly all federal agencies have avoided the promised amount of employee furloughs.

Birth control leader Margaret Sanger: Darwinist, racist and eugenicist. By Jerry Bergman

The News in Zingers. By Argus Hamilton
Excerpt: Another America hit the bookstores Friday, revealing that the freed American slaves who went back to Liberia took slaves themselves after settling in Africa. It's jarring. Maybe it will prove to racists once and for all that under the skin we're all exactly the same.

Excerpt: It is significant to point out that the first attack against the U.S. embassies on September 11, 2012, happened in CairoEgypt was the spark and Egyptians were the agents of both attacks. Al-Kashif had been locked up in one of Egypt’s most secure prisons, but he was released by deposed president Mohammad Mursi prior to the attacks. Al-Kashif had been Osama bin Laden’s bodyguard. (Per article, “Mursi was the primary agent behind his release.” Maybe this is “the goods” the MB have on POTUS…. Hope Issa gets to the bottom of it. –Barb)

Reports: Passport Links Benghazi To Egypt: Stevens' alleged killer traced to Muslim Brotherhood official
Excerpt: A passport belonging to the alleged killer of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens has been recovered at the home of Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood deputy leader Khairat Al-Shater, according to Arabic-language reports from the Middle East. The reports say the passport was found when Egyptian security forces arrested Al-Shater after the ouster of Muslim Brotherhood President Mohamed Morsi. Huma Abedin, Alger Hiss, Huma Abedin, Alger Hiss, Huma Abedin, Alger…: Pay no attention to the extensive Muslim Brotherhood connections of Hillary Clinton's confidante.
Excerpt: Indeed, one infallible way to determine a stranger’s political positions on just about anything is to ask if he or she thinks Huma Abedin has ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. If the stranger responds with righteous outrage, you’re dealing with a doctrinaire, mainstream liberal. If, on the other hand, the response is, “Yes, that is something that should be investigated,” you’re face-to-face with a Tea Partier. That’s why Huma Abedin is the new Alger Hiss.

Excerpt: The president is pushing a plan to raise money by hiking cell phone fees and use the revenue generated to wire up local schools with high-speed Internet access. He’s also planning to do this without input from Congress, via the Federal Communications Commission, according to the Washington Post. Congress, not the executive branch, is empowered by the Constitution with the ability to levy or reject taxes. By circumventing Congress, the president would also avoid hearings, debate, and give and take — what we used to call the legislative process. (Fees will only go up on those making over $250k per his promise. ~Bob.)

Obama Bypasses Congress To Fund Universal Preschool
States are receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in "discretionary spending," to fund universal preschool, Barack Obama’s new pet project. Caitlin Emma at Politico writes that the states are receiving the cash even though "Congress hasn’t seriously considered paying for President Barack Obama’s universal preschool proposal." Race to the Top early learning grants and ObamaCare funds are providing the assistance to states to implement preschool and early childcare programs. ( “They have to be carefully taught”…South Pacific lyric. –Barb)

Obamacare Exemption: None Dare Call It Treason
Excerpt: Last week, while many Americans spent hard-saved money on long overdue vacations, the snakes and weasels inside the federal bureaucracy schemed until they hatched an evil plan. It would feather their own nests with more of your money, protect themselves from the ravages of the laws they foist upon us, desecrate our Constitution and then smear us with insult so putrid it would make a roadside vulture gag. All the legal, constitutional and parliamentary maneuvering is enough to confuse Albert Einstein, but here is the bottom line: Congress and staff managed to get themselves exempted from one of the most punishing aspects of Obamacare.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2393832/Obama-personal-aide-Reggie-Love-says-president-played-cards-bin-Laden-raid.html
President Obama's longtime aide Reggie Love says he and the president played cards during part of the raid inPakistan that killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. 'Most people were like down in the Situation Room and [President Obama] was like, "I’m not going to be down there, I can’t watch this entire thing,"' (Minor distraction compared to the real scandals. ~Bob.)

The New York Times takes down the Clinton Foundation. This could be devastating for Bill and Hillary

Excerpt: The cynical might infer from the NYT piece that the Clintons are willing to sell themselves, their image, and even their Foundation's reputation in exchange for money to finance their personal projects. In Bill's case, saving the world. In Hillary's case, maybe, running for president.

Texas congressman invites ‘Obama rodeo clown’ to perform in his state
Der Fuhrer is not pleased. The poor clown should expect visits from the Secret Service, Homeland Defense, the FBI, and of course, the IRS – LLW. Another distraction from the big issues, created by the left and taken in by the right. ~Bob.

Russell Simmons Sell Us Out With ‘Harriet Tubman Sex Tape’!

CW: "I made today's paper!" Me: "That's cool. Are they pressing charges?"

Interesting: Muslim History 101. By Mike Konrad
Excerpt: According to Islam, since mankind was originally Muslim, all places of true worship must have originally been a mosque. This is the reason that Muslim Arabs claim justification in taking the sacred areas of whatever lands they seize, and restoring the buildings to what they perceive as their original service to Allah.

Google: email users should not expect privacy: Google is on a fresh collision course with users after it claimed that people who use its Gmail service have "no legitimate expectation of privacy".
Excerpt: "People who use web-based email today cannot be surprised if their emails are processed,” Google said. “Indeed, 'a person has no legitimate expectation of privacy in information he voluntarily turns over to third parties,” it added, citing a Supreme Court judgment handed down over electronic communications in 1979 – long before Google existed. Google makes its money from targeting adverts at users based on detailed information about them, but it is rare that the California business is so clear about the deal people are entering when they use Google services, or even send messages to other people who do so.

UK: Litter bins are spying on us. Next it will be toilets. By William Foxton
Excerpt: Electronic surveillance of our every action has just moved a step closer. London's creepiest startup has been caught spying on us through public litter bins. The company behind the spybins, called Renew, hid electronic listening devices in a dozen bins around London, which then started lifting information from any phone that walked past.

Unfunded Liabilities of State and Local Government Employee Retirement Benefit Plans

Lebensraum: The New York Times Catches Up to Mark Steyn
Excerpt: The New York Times seven years later: In its most recent census, Germany discovered it had lost 1.5 million inhabitants. By 2060, experts say, the country could shrink by an additional 19 percent, to about 66 million. So alarmist nuts like me and respectable chaps like the Times are now in agreement on where we’re headed, and in dispute merely about the speed we’re getting there.

Carry at the Office. By Kevin Creighton
Excerpt: I’ve carried in office environments for more than six years, and before I did so, I sought out the opinion of qualified instructors like NRA Senior Training Counselor Jim Neff of Generations Firearm Training. His advice was to keep in mind the different materials our clothes are made of and how they will substantially change your ability to access a concealed firearm. Shirt length, size and shape of pockets, location of belt loops and looseness of pant legs are different between almost all brands.

Obama gives up on Egypt, goes golfing. By Neil Munro

The statement came 49 months after Obama chose Cairo University in Egypt, under then-strongman Hosni Mubarak, as the site of his chief foreign policy initiative.

Excerpt: Over the years, I’ve meticulously chronicled progressive haters and their rank hypocrisy. It’s time for yet another refresher course as the libs go nuts over a rodeo clown.

Why Obama and the Media Side with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Excerpt: Our rulers in the liberal establishment don’t have any particular problem with the Egyptian army. But as we have seen repeatedly, they do have a problem with Christians, whom they would be very happy to see Muslim Brotherhood goons eradicate.
