A few political items for today

Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. - A Call To Rewire Haywire America. By Andy Weddington
Excerpt: America's collective neural network is under attack - self-respect; pride; initiative; work ethic; and dogged determination that built our country into a world power is being short-circuited in many. Government appeasement, handouts, and inane policy - the strategy and tactics of disingenuous and wimp pols - are rewiring the American psyche. Thus American thinking and behavior is terribly afoul - it's haywire. Time to rewire!

Are We Serious About Education? By Thomas Sowell
Excerpt: The painful irony in all this is that the original Dunbar High School building, which opened in 1916, housed a school with a record of high academic achievements for generations of black students, despite the inadequacies of the building and the inadequacies of the financial support that the school received. By contrast, today's Dunbar High School is just another ghetto school with abysmal standards, despite Washington's record of having some of the country's highest levels of money spent per pupil -- and some of the lowest test score results. (The Democrats are serious about getting votes and money from teachers unions, the kids be damned. ~Bob.)

Our Postmodern Angst: In our unheroic age, victimhood has replaced valiant struggle. By Victor Davis Hanson
Excerpt: In the globally connected and affluent world of the 21st century, we thankfully have evolved a long way from the elemental poverty, hunger, and ethnic, religious, and racial hatred that were mostly the norm of the world until the last century. Yet who would know of such progress — and the great sacrifices made to achieve it — from the howls of our postmodern oppressed? In fact, the better life has become, the more victimized modern affluent Westerners seem to act. (Because I was born in a modern, capitalist society that protects property rights, I have lived better and longer than 99% of the people ever born. I remember that when I’m tempted to complain about having pulmonary fibrosis at 67. ~Bob.)

Allen West Speaks in New Hampshire in Possible 2016 Preview. Kevin Derby
Excerpt: Former Congressman Allen West has left the door open to a political comeback in 2016. While most political observers believe he will run again for the U.S. House or possibly for the U.S. Senate, West could have other ambitions -- namely, the White House.

http://clashdaily.com/2013/08/rodeo-clown-wears-obama-mask-crowd-cheers-for-bull-to-run-him-over/l
Excerpt: “The announcer wanted to know if anyone would like to see Obama run down by a bull,” the posting said. “The crowd went wild. He asked it again and again, louder each time, whipping the audience into a lather.

Bush rodeo clown allowed in ’94, Obama clown banned forever
Excerpt: In fact, it was documented back in 1994 that a dummy wearing a President George H.W. Bush mask, propped up by a broomstick, was employed as a decoy during a bull riding riding contest.

It could have been worse. The Rodeo Clown could have been wearing a Sandra Fluke mask.

Dear blacklisted rodeo clown: feel up some women, send a photo of your junk to a coed, and all is forgiven. Love, the Democrat Party

Shut Up and Drill: Why Fracking Could End the Age of Gas Price Spikes
Excerpt: Fracking is altogether different. It's not just an innovative way to get at previously unreachable oil reserves. It alters the very nature of the oil and gasoline supply chain. A traditional well might produce 50 barrels of oil a day when it opens, but it will produce close to that for more than a generation. Newly fracked wells have been known to produce over 7,000 barrels a day.

Detroit Shows How Cities Can Shakedown Obamacare: Cities don't have to be in trouble to dump retirees on federal taxpayers. By Shikha Dalmia
Excerpt: Detroit officials regard this as a “win-win” for Detroit and its retirees. True. But what they don’t say is that it’ll be “lose-lose” for the country and federal taxpayers. Detroit is hardly the first city to think of having ObamaCare subsidize its retirees.

Obama Administration: Largest Tax Hike since WWII
Excerpt: Fast forward more than 60 years to today, and taxes are rising faster now under Obama than they have under any other president since WWII. (Remember when Obama promised if he was elected president, anyone making less than $250,000 a year wouldn’t pay a dime more in taxes? Anyone who believed that is feeble minded. ~Bob.)

Well, we knew the city was busted…~Bob

Woman opens fire on group of robbers at Denny's
Excerpt: "She said she came out of the restroom and saw my brother on the floor. That's when she started doing what she gotta do. She got a license and she'll do anything to protect her kids and my brother," he said. (What’s the country coming to? One of the thugs could have been injured, then sued Denny’s. ~Bob)

11 Liberal Rules for Racism in America. By John Hawkins
Excerpt: When America was a racist country, Democrats were primarily the ones engaged in racism. However, now that racism has been largely relegated to the fringes of American society (the KKK, the New Black Panthers, the Nation of Islam, La Raza, MEChA, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, American Nazi Party, etc.), the Democrats are constantly wagging their fingers about it.

Excerpt: The first series I dialed up was Under The Dome. Having read the book, I found the series to be totally alien to Stephen King's original novel. Never the less, I'm enjoying watching people learn to cope without the aid and abetting of big government. As in real life, we see the good people battling the bad guys, and doing so on a level playing field...there are no government quotas and no Barack Obama showing up on the fringes of the dome to make still another speech, to demonize free market forces or to promise what he obviously can't deliver.

The Muslim Brotherhood’s False Appeal. By Daniel Greenfield
Excerpt: What is more interesting is the appeal of the Muslim Brotherhood, a reactionary Islamist terrorist organization with a history of Nazi collaboration that stands for theocracy, to the Western politicians who have come flocking to it as the last best hope for stability in the Middle East.

The News in Zingers. By Argus Hamilton
Excerpt: Californians were furious Friday over test scores that show drastic drops in student test scores in English and math. The opinion of the education establishment is unanimous. The only thing that will solve this problem is a twenty percent bump in teachers' pensions.

Reid says Obamacare just a step toward eventual single-payer system
Excerpt: In just about seven weeks, people will be able to start buying Obamacare-approved insurance plans through the new health care exchanges. But already, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is predicting those plans, and the whole system of distributing them, will eventually be moot. (No surprise. The fundamental transformation of America into a failed European utopia. ~Bob

Today’s top opinion: Green trouble

To promote the enterprise, he leaned heavily on his political connections: Hillary Clinton’s brother Anthony Rodham tries to raise money for it; Bill Clinton attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony last year.

Nigeria unrest: 'Boko Haram' gunmen kill 44 at mosque
Excerpt: The killings took place during dawn prayers on Sunday, although news only emerged on Monday, as communications are disrupted by a state of emergency.

Obama Promotes Racism. By Eileen F. Toplansky
True, though hardly a news flash. ~Bob

Excerpt: This is what you get when you combine a religion masquerading as “science” with a farming state that ranks 30th out of 50 in population having a disproportionate early say in presidential elections.

Shocking! ~Bob. Excerpt: Despite collecting nearly $100 million in stimulus funds and hiring a former Obama administration official, electric car charging station manufacturer Ecotality may have to declare bankruptcy, according to a report the company filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Hoodies, Violence and the Lies the Black Race is Built On. By Crystal Wright
Excerpt: Personal responsibility is for whites only, according to black apologists like MSNBC’s Toure Neblett, Oprah, Russell Simmons, and the mainstream media. In the wake of the George Zimmerman not guilty verdict in the death of Trayvon Martin, this low expectation message is pushed relentlessly--that all men (except blacks) are created equal with certain unalienable rights among them “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Show me where it says that in the Declaration of Independence or Constitution.
