Racism: An American Tradition

"Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences, a possibility I abhor less or discount less than my colleague Judge (Miriam) Cedarbaum, our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. Justice (Sandra Day) O'Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases. I am not so sure that I agree with the statement. I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."

  1. Judicial activism is one of the things that is destroying our Nation. If Polybius would have been able to see a Judicacy as a part of government I am sure that he would have placed Judicial Activism in the same category as mobocracies, tyrannies, and oligarchies.

  2. Racism counts in the Half-Breed's administration. And that's all that counts...

  3. Anyone who talks in terms of "white males" or "white men" is a person who needs to be stopped. These terms really code for "white people" or "the Americans".I know because I go to school at Los Angeles City College, and I am one of the few white people here.

I spent 30 years in the UK, where I was the object of prejudice every day of my life because I am "American". 3 1/2 years ago I returned "home" to the USA and Los Angeles, where I am the object of prejudice because I am "white". (Technically, I am part Injun. So what. I'll take Manhattan.) I am a full-time student at Los Angeles City College which is a hell-mouth of Political Correctness. Out of the three English teachers I have had here since January of this year, two have trashed "white men" as the cause of all the world's problem. One of these teachers is a 39- year-old white woman with an MA from Columbia. She styles herself as a "raging feminist". When I handed in a essay about the nonsensical gay marriage campaign here, she refused to give me a grade on it. In late 2008, a young Christian man was shouted down in his Speech 101 class on this campus by a teacher (John Matteson) who called him a "fascist bastard" for saying his religion disagreed with gay marriage. Matteson told the young man Jonathan Lopez to "Ask God to give you a grade." The second racist teacher we have had this term is a 40-ish Japanese-American man, a self-styled "feminist" and "Marxist" who says all Japanese men feel like girls now because "white men" (he means, "the Americans") bombed them. He gave us a lecture about WWII which LEFT OUT THE BIT WHERE THE JAPANESE BOMB PEARL HARBOR. He explained that, before WWII, Japan had for centuries been the terror of Asia -- invading all sorts of countries, raping women and making them sex slaves, torturing, murdering. The bomb put a stop to that, so one assumes non-Japanese Asians were pretty happy about this turn of events. He complained that his parents, then aged 7 and 13 were interned during the war but did not suffer because they thought they were at camp. He said the Japanese were interned because they were good at gardening and competition for other CA gardeners.

This is the kind of guff young immigrant students are being spoon-fed at Los Angeles City College. I live in the neighborhood of this college and the people who live and have businesses here are from the same places the kids at the school are from. In the real world outside the college grounds, nobody is talking about being offended or racism or any of that. We all live and work together. These colleges are indoctrination camps to make trouble between people who have no argument with each other.

  4. Education is a monoply from public school to college for the benefit of teachers, mostly. Just ask Harry Loryane, the guy who made a living off of books and teaching how to have a "Super power Memory". Most teachers and institution will not embrace his ideas. Why? They say you really haven't learned if you use a system to memorize. That is stupid, you can learn anything unless you remember a lot of the subject; it is the foundation of the higher levels of learning. So why do educators try to control you "thoughts" like this PC business and how you learn? We are their serfs the source of their income.
